The golf course at Deer Run Country Club, which was redesigned by Ron Garl in 2003, utilizes its natural terrain of sparkling lakes and towering trees to create a picturesque and challenging layout. The golf course is also known for the immaculate conditions of its greens and fairways, which provide excellent putting surfaces. Deer Run Country Club features strategically placed sand traps, numerous doglegs, and water comes into play on several holes. The golf course, while challenging, is appealing to casual golfers and beginners for the beautiful setting and enjoyable, relaxing game. Deer Run Country Club is a local favorite both for the interesting layout and affordable rates.

Fun place if you like to "Grip it and Rip it"
I recently put a new driver in the bag and this course really allowed me to have some fun with it. The combination of risk/reward doglegs, short par 4's and the very rare back to back Par 5's on the front nine made this an entertaining afternoon of golf. Almost every green is protected by multiple bunkers, so approach shots must be played carefully. Greens were good overall and I felt I got more than my money's worth on an afternoon round for $20.
Slow Greens. Old Neighborhood.
Though the greens were well kept, they were incredibly slow. The neighborhood that surrounds the course is run down which doesn't make for a pleasant trip around the golf course. I only played 9 holes but I'm glad that's all I played.
Conditions were much improved
We had stopped playing here due to the conditions of the greens. This time, we found them to be much improved. Very playable. The pace of play was good for a Satuday morning.
New greens were in great shape. Overall good condition.
New greens were in great shape. Overall good condition.
Great value!
Course in good shape, greens good, but average speed. 1st time playing here, several severe dogleg par 4s are quirky and tough. Have to score on these holes to score well. Golf and lunch deal make it great value!
in good shape
Been a while since I played Deer Run. Found the course in very good shape. Nice greens and fairways. Good layout, not easy. Worth playing.
Always a good time at Deer Run
We always have a great time at Deer Run, and they have made significant updates to the fairways and greens.
Older course, great character, but fun and challenging
Great value for the money. Overall, well maintained and in good condition. Beautiful club house.
Good golf for the price.
This golf course has made some improvements since I last played it a little over a year ago. I will not go into too much detail as this is a Golf Group managed property and it seems as though they have been making these changes at most of the facilities they take care of. I hope this trend continues through out all of golf at this point. The course was in good shape. The pace of play was also nice. Much more enjoyable round of golf than some previous visits.
Not Good
Bad overall experience. Begginner course. Slow greens. Maintenace help in the way. Slow play. Better places to play for the better player than here
This course is a nice challenge
This course is challanging ,dog leg lefts dog leg rights over water ,great par fives, tricky par three`s, Love this course.
great layout
Greens were full, receptive, fairways not burnt, and each hole gave you looks to chose
course was fun to play
Not hard to find. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was in real good shape. Greens putted very slow took several holes to get accustomed too. Layout of course was good. Allot of fun to play.
nice course and facilities
great deal with free lunch and drink included
always in good shape, will play again
Interesting layout, playable
Greens were little slow, lots of grass. Fairways little thin, but defined wells. Very good bunkers, consistent, heavy sand. Good layout and mix of holes. Would go back.
nice layout play more than once to know layout
i teed off at 100 and 5:30 we were done so on a very nice day that is good time for late start on a fri afternoon.
Too many tee times taken
We have played this course in the past and been impressed. However yesterday it took us 4.5 hours to do 12 holes due to people on the course. After 12 holes we decided we had had enough and told the guy in the pro shop the situation. He was very dismissive, in fact he didnt really want to no. He agreed it was very busy, said he was sorry and walked off. We will not be going back, which is a shame as last year we played it regularly.
Country Club Deer Run
course is challenging and in excellent shape greens roll very good
Nice package!
My golfing buddy and I purchased the eat, drink, and play package for $24.95 ea. Once we arrived, we were delivered a cart right to our car in the patking lot. We checked in and immediately went to the clubhouse to see what was available on our menu for lunch. To my surprise, we were offered the full menu with a draft beer or soft drink (such other packages tend to limit your menu options significantly). We were also encouraged to call in our order on the 8th hole so it would be ready on the turn. Conveniently enough, there was a full size menu easily displayed just off the cart path to choose from.
The course was fun and had a very open feeling which I admit I was nervous about since it is nestled in a heavily populated and sometimes crowded neighborhood. Greens were all in great repair and sand traps were always finely raked. Very enjoyable experience all in all.
(food quality could/should be better but who really cares when the entire package is this cheap and there's free beer!)
Similar to Wekiva GC, Kings Ridge GC, & Links of Lake Bernadette.
12:50 Tee time. Nice course. Well laid out. Greens really fast. Lots of bunkers. Has a couple of hidden water areas. Similar to Wekiva GC,Twin Rivers GC, & Rock Spring Ridge GC. Will play again.
