New green make course much more playable
Fantastic job on new greens, bunkers are not great (heavily compacted), but playable. Overall, still a great course for the money.
Greens are in great shape - fairways need some work
Great value and nice layout. They did a great job bringing the greens back. Their focus should be on the fairways but this is a great layout, with really nice foks running the place and the lunch and play is the best value in Central Florida. Give this course a try. In the fairway, play bare spots as ground under repair and you'll really enjoy your round and the lunch that follows (or after nine if you prefer).
Much improved since last time played.
Greatest improvement in greens. Would rate at 7.5/10. Still need work in other areas.
New greens great. Emphasize ball mark repair.
The course layout is good. Fairways and tee boxes could use attention. The new greens are excellent, but some greens have a lot of ball-marks. This is a fault of the golfers. I suggest a sign and verbal at the pro shop and a sign at each green.
Greens are amazing.
We had stopped playing Deer Run because the greens had deteriorated to the point that it wasn't even golf anymore. Recently, they've been sending out emails claiming that their greens are completely redone and beautiful, so I played a round just to check it out. They are absolutely right! I don't know how they did it, but their greens are now the best in town. They have lots of undulations, but they roll so true I was dropping bombs right and left. And at the GolfNow rates, the value can't be beat. We're playing there again tomorrow.
perfect greens, ridiculously good prices, fairways and tees need work
if the fairways and tee boxes are improved then the place will be top notch.
lunch and 18 holes for 18 dollars!
New Greens are Nice!
Nice Course and Club House. Good Driving Range, but the putting green is under repair. Brand new Greens on all the holes, and are also 100%, a few lines here and there. This has some draining issues when it rains pretty good. A good Home course to keep your good strong.
always friendly with great rates
Never had a bad experience at this course especially with the staff.
Great place to play
Not long but has it challenges, this place is great for the beginner as well want to be pro.
Great course for working on your game
I am a regular here at Deer Run. On my recent play the course was under repair. Little dissapointed. Rough needed some trimming. Fairways had work being done; open holes on course. standing water made the course mushy. Putting green was shut down. Greens were average condition. On the plus side the course is a nice layout; Moderate difficulty. Good slope/par numbers. Play early; recommended. Weekend gets busy.
Good course at a good value.
I very rarely love anything so to say I like is a pretty good compliment. I got a good deal with Golf Now, like 30 bucks for 18, cart, lunch with a beer. Overall it was a nice place. The course not to tough but cahllenging enough to be fun. Food was good. The pro shop was really poor, didn't even have balls to purchase. Had to drive to Wal-Mart before the tee-time. Guy at the shop gave me a free bucket for the trouble. Got paired up with another single and went to the tee box at our leisure. The course was dead except for the foursome of older women who refused to let us play through. Not a big deal as I was not in a hurry but still, a marshal could have helped there. Course was pretty poor condition but in defense it ahd poured for like 4 days straight. Still, lots of dead spots, and thr rough was outta control. Nice layout except for some odd tee boxes. Staff was friendly and the kid had the cart to my car as soon as I got out. I don't usually get that kinda service so I thought it was nice.
Again, overall nice place. I probably wouldn't play it again but I would recommend it at least once, especially if you could get the deal with lunch.
at hot deal rates a good value
I have played this course many times and usually there is something wrong about it. Weeds in the greens, practice green unavailable, etc. Last time the greens mower had a serious hydraulic leak and there were smelly lines criss crossing the putting surface.
It is about 25 minutes from me and with a hot deal rate it is worth playing.
I would not drive any great distance to try it though.
STAY AWAY!!
this used to be a good value course. it has deteriorated to the point it is UNPLAYABLE! greens are terrible, the rough it not mowed often and the weeds are everywhere.. play shuffleboard rather than golf here. they do not care why should you?
course was getting over grown. mot well maintained
course going down hill greens were hardly playable looks like they were going to do some work on them
Tough but fair course
Course was in better shape than before. The greens were fast but playable. Enjoyed the experience. Would recommend this course.
