The golf course at Deer Run Country Club, which was redesigned by Ron Garl in 2003, utilizes its natural terrain of sparkling lakes and towering trees to create a picturesque and challenging layout. The golf course is also known for the immaculate conditions of its greens and fairways, which provide excellent putting surfaces. Deer Run Country Club features strategically placed sand traps, numerous doglegs, and water comes into play on several holes. The golf course, while challenging, is appealing to casual golfers and beginners for the beautiful setting and enjoyable, relaxing game. Deer Run Country Club is a local favorite both for the interesting layout and affordable rates.

Peaceful
A very nice course through very nice neighborhoods
Very very very slow
We started 30 min late and were paired with
someone we didn't know
Pace was extremely slow all day
Only able to get thru 16 holes in 5 hours
Staff was unfriendly
Good value and in great shape!
I want to congratulate all the staff in getting the course in such a great shape. The green and fairways are back!
it,s OK
Driving range hitting ball into water , I don,t like it
Some player are too slow to play should ranger controll
Average course
Fairways were kept in very good shape, the greens however need a little bit of work. Pace of play was pretty good. (4 hours, 15 minutes on a Sunday). Not bad for the $15-20 price range. Didn't get food, so I can't review the Golf/Lunch special.
Excellent value
I liked this course so much, I played it a second time during my visit to Florida. Great course for the weekend hacker like myself! Played 18 holes with cart for 13 bucks!
well worth the money
Unique course design. Lots of water and challenging greens. The course whooped me pretty good, but I'll be back.
pristine greens
great course to play, greens are excellent, a challenge to the average golfer on some holes but fair on most.
pleasantly surprised
I have lived close to this course for years and always thought it wasn't that nice. However, I recently found a great deal on golfnow and I couldn't pass up playing there. I was surprised at how well maintained and friendly the staff were. Most all the greens and fairways were really clean and fast. It did have a few tee boxes in repair but they were soon to be open again. The fairways were wide open but still plenty of challange. I would defenatly recomend this course.
Struggling greens are now good!
Haven't played here in a few months but this past weekend was very playable. Hope they keep up the greens this winter!
The greens are back
The course is undergoing overseeding for the winter months. The greens are consistent and running true. It is a major improvement from spring. Some of the bunkers need work so hit the ball straight!
greens in ok shape, fairways could use a little work
When arrived at Deer Run C.C. was informed that front 9 was closed and back would be played twice. Would have been nice to have that info ahead of booking tee time. Proshop worker said it was posted on your web site but I did not see it. Mabe posting in a more noticible way would be nice.
GOOD GREENS NOW AND GREAT VALUE!
Have played this course many times in the past. Quit playing it over a year ago because the greens were almost unpalyable. Well, congrats to the staff, the greens are back and rolling very nice! Course is in decent shape all around other that a few tee boxes. This is now kind of a hidden gem. Shhh
Fast greens, fairways in pretty good shape, most of the T-boxes in decent shape.
I hadn't played here in a while but was pleasantly surprised by the conditions. The greens were in very good shape and pretty quick. I don't remember them having quite as much undulation either. The fairways were in very good shape in the middle but had some bare spots near the fringes. Rough looked like it had been cut back further too which was a plus. Most tee boxes were in decent shape and the few that weren't were still OK. Pace of play wasn't bad - we blew through the front nine but then it got a little slow on the back but not bad. With the doglegs and some unique layouts I used every club in the bag. The course is fair and if you hit it straight you'll be well rewarded but if you don't it's not overly penalizing. Staff was young but very polite. We'll be back soon.
Average course, improving conditions
Greens have undergone renovation and conditions are improving. Some good holes and a couple of weird ones. All in all not a bad course if the greens are playable.
It's a great little course for the money.
I'm a once in a blue moon player....Had a great time...great little course for the money
Greens are much improved, Staff is friendly, Overall good value.
Staff is courteous and polite. Staff member saw me drive in and was nice enough to drive a cart over to my car and load my bag. Girl driving the beverage cart was friendly, and would often wait for us to hit before driving through. She also made it a point to check on us several times during the round. I would say we saw her about 5 times in the course of play. We also saw the ranger quite a few times during the front 9 as he drove by to check on us. The local pro met us early in the back nine, and chatted with my group for a while as we walked off one of the greens. Very friendly staff.
Practice range overlooks a lake and you hit the range balls into water. Unfortunately, their practice putting green was closed for maintenance so no short game warm-ups before tee off.
The fairways were average in condition. There were a few brown spots, but nothing too bad. The tee boxes could use some work. There were a few that were very sandy, and some had multiple areas missing turf.
The greens are very much improved from earlier this year. Compacted and smooth rolling. Some greens did have some damaged areas due to the local sand cranes digging them up, but nothing major. Bunkers need to be worked on. They were very compacted and not very fluffy. Tough to hit out softly.
Difficulty is moderate and is suitable for beginners, high/mid handicappers. Low handicap and scratch golfers may not find the course very challenging.
I would definitely recommend this course if you can get a tee time under $30 (winter rates). Otherwise, I would look elsewhere.
I was able to take advantage of a special Golf Now weekend tee time by pre-paying online. This made my experience all the better because of the value. Don't ever pay rack rates! Use Golf Now!
challanging course
nice course better price
location is good
payed 18 holes in 2 1/2 hr
Fairways need work
The fairways on the front 9 were in good condition, but quite a few in the back were really bad. There wasn't much grass and mostly dirt on 3 of the holes. Other than that, the greens played fast and were mostly in good shape.
