Conditions & Pace
Pace of play was horrendous with 4 groups of absolute hacks with zero etiquette ahead of us.
Greens were in decent shape and quick
Fairways were so thick, which I understand being in August so they don’t burn out. But for $70 at noon on a Saturday I would expect a lot more. Bunker sand was worse than some of my construction sites.
Staff was nice and it’s a beautiful layout. Just very disappointed in the conditions and pace. Not even close to being worth that kind of money
Great layout
First time on course. I enjoy the layout with plenty risk rewards holes. Forcing you to play various clubs. With all the rain the tee boxes and fairways were in great condition. The greens were good but not great. The puts rolled true with fair pace. We got caught in a major rain storm and the course drained surprisingly well.
With covid , not much was offered as patrons. My only negative were the bunkers, very poor.
Great Round
Tee’d off at about 8am this morning and was able to get through the round in about four hours. Great course, tough to play. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were well kept. A lot of challenging shots to be had. Pace of play was great. I would most definitely come back, you can’t beat the layout of this course for the cost of a round. Highly recommend.
Nice layout with wide fairways - good rolling greens
The course was in pretty good shape and the greens rolled true - stimp around a 9-10 I'd say. The only issues are if you hit off the fairway into the second cut its pretty deep and easy to lose your ball.
Enjoyed the round and would certainly recommend giving the course a try if you haven't been there in a while.
Eagle Trace still it!!
Being a former member at Eagle Trace for over 15 years and visiting it for the first time in 6 years, I thought I had to respond to some of the negative comments made about this golf course.
I'm an ER physician and have been very busy helping other health care professionals take care of COVID-19 patients locally and around the country.
If you are a good golfer and enjoy to have your skill set tested then you will really enjoy Eagle Trace. The course is in great shape overall. The greens were somewhat slow for me with a stent of about an 11. The bunkers were in fine shape. The overall condition presented to the players makes it an excellent buy.
I'm not getting paid for this review but do want to set the record straight about the course. No, food and beverages are not available due to the proper way of dealing with COVID-19.
I was also very impressed seeing 6-7 golf course maintenance people doing their job!! I wanted to share a few photos but the GolfNow app had issues.

Rough Times
Understand that the world with the COVID virus is tough, but charging $65 for the condition of this course is outrageous.
Club house is closed- understand but lost my glove and couldn’t buy another one, F&B very limited, cart and 4-5 things from the bar. All understandable.
Greens on the front 9 were rough shape several dead spots, lots of huge white patches in fairways and roughs.
Such a great lay out, formerly a PGA tour stop and a TPC. Noticed the TPC logo is removed from tee box signs and all collateral. Plenty of rain, not sure why they have let the condition deteriorate so much.
Times are tough, but this is a $40 course
Terrible shape, terrible service. Avoid this place for the price.
Course was in shambles, no notification of cart path only. Mud everywhere, greens and fairways a mess. I used to play here often, it’s no longer a course I will consider. When I asked for a rain check I was instantly refused. Price point is way too high. Can’t believe this is a TPC course.
Doesn’t hold up well after rain.
Even tho we have had some rain over the last few days the course was very muddy and wasn’t very many places on the tee boxes to hit from. Played it a couple weeks ago and was very happy. Today not so much. I highly recommend not playing this course after it rains.
Make or break
I think Eagle Trace can go one of two ways. It will either fall into disrepair, which would be a shame, or the maintenance will rise up to meet the level of the course layout.
There has been some wet weather in the area, so some of the fairways can be excused. Most of the greens were good, but a few showed different colors. TPC is no longer affiliated with the course, so the new management has a big task. This can easily be one of the best courses in the three county area, IF it is maintained properly.
Gotta hit the long ball
All in all, this is a great course. Lots of water and in my opinion, very long. If you’re a long ball hitter, this is definitely the course for you.
I would recommend this course especially if you like a good challenge.
Rained out!
I did not play . Weather Rain got in the way. I cancelled at that moment. Golf course Pro Shop was informed
