Colonial Charters Golf Club
About
Colonial Charters Golf Club (formerly known as Palmetto Greens) is located in Longs, S.C. near Myrtle Beach. It has a laid-back atmosphere and is known for its consistently good conditions. The layout will test your accuracy with narrow, fairways and a variety of water hazards and sand traps. Golfers will encounter water on nearly every hole, two of them feature greenside waterfalls. There are also several strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course and mature hardwoods line the fairways. There are a few challenging holes but overall it is player friendly enough for any skill level to approach with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Colonial Charters Golf Club has a practice facility with a driving range and chipping and putting areas. For those who are still learning, there are PGA Professionals available for lessons.

Tight
This course was kinda tight for my liking and some of the greens were the size of postage stamp. Could be a test if the wind is up. Worth the price, especially for a Sunday. Not the best place, but certainly not the worst.
Very friendly staff. Scott at the pro shop was a super nice guy. Pace of play was really slow. As for the course,
It's well kept but very tight with small greens.
The only other thing I can say is the 2 nines are very separated and if you don't know the place you can get lost coming back from 18...like I did..
So it could be better marked to get you back to the club house....
Better than expected…
I played here several years ago and thought I’d never play it again based on conditions at that time. I was pleasantly surprised with the course conditions this time around. There were a few rough spots here and there (soggy/muddy near sprinklers at a few greens) and some random bare spots. Greens in decent shape and ran well. The course is a bit tight at times so it requires wise choices in club selection and shot placement. If you’re a spray golfer you might struggle here, there’s some areas of forgiveness, but equally, there’s trouble if you’re off target. The rough is a little longer than I prefer and it will significantly limit your rollout, but it’s thin enough to find you ball and get a solid hit on the ball when you’re in it.
Weekend warm-up
Came down early for a golf trip with the guys and found the gem on here for a great price. The course offers it's challenges with its smaller greens along with its water hazards that the course winds around. Greens are in great condition and roll true to the putt. I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a fun course playing short par fours making for a great chance at birdie. All in all was a great warmer for a week of golf.
Disappointed
Pro shop attendant was rude and uninterested in answering questions. Was our first time there and wanted some insight but he didn’t want to help. Fairways were in rough shape and greens very small.
Not too good
The course was on rough shape, no drink on the course, pro shop attendee was not helpful and rude. We barely got to our car after the round and they rushed us off the cart before all our stuff was removed.
Okay course
Staff was friendly. They sent people off both sides, so when me made the turn a 4-ball snaked in front of us, really slowing down our back 9.
Water and mostly narrow
Tee boxes were either spiked or if not, you need a hammer to get the tee in!
The course itself was dry and rolling a lot. Sometimes it's good sometimes...
Greens were average at most.
There is water somewhere on almost all holes.
A lot of narrow fairways. So if it is your first time there driver is not your best friend in your bag.
Price was good, but if you want quality, you better go elsewhere, if you want a good price it is for you
Great course
Course was in great shape. Not a long course but enough water and narrow fairways to give a challenge. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The only knock was getting to and from hole 10. You literally drive through a neighborhood and the time sign telling you to turn off is easy to miss.
Good layout but course needed work.
We were disappointed with the condition of the course.
Had difficulty finding the 10th hole.
Had to ride a long way through a residential neighborhood
Good golfing
Great staff, good course, can get lost so better signage would help, price was fair and overall good experience. We will play here again.
