Beautiful summers evening spent in slade valley , holes 7-18 are great and plenty of space after the congestion of 4, 5,6… great value and a great reminder that their are some fine courses on our doorstep
A little gem
Played this course on probably the hottest day.
The course is in perfect condition thanks to the new green keeper. Well maintained fairways and greens Tee boxes clearly marked. Plenty of buggies if you don’t want the challenge of the hills. Staff could not be friendlier. Club house facilities very good and impeccably clean. Overall a good find. Will definitely be back.
Fabulous course and setting, fun and challenging
Slade Valley GC is a parkland course in the Dublin Mountains. I found it in top condition, fairways manicured and greens impeccable. The course layout is clever, interesting, and challenging, but the fairways are generous and it is overall a very enjoyable course - maybe the lack of water adds to the pleasure! There are some exceptional holes and views. We didn’t get to enjoy the clubhouse as on a quiet day it appears to close early, though it looks like a fine venue, including a fully stocked pro shop. The welcome at the desk and from the members on course was warm. The round was excellent value for money. My group likes to walk and hills are not a problem to us, but there are buggies to hire if you find gravity a challenge! Well worth a trip if you are looking for an enjoyable round in a stunning setting on a clear day.
Course has a lot of potential but not very well maintained
I thought the course could be a top course but is not very well maintained. The grass on the fairways appeared to not have been cut for over a week or even 2. Daisys and weeds growing along the fairways. There is also a couple of fairways that cross over each other.
The clubhouse bar/restaurant was closed so nowhere to have a drink or bite to eat after our round.
Positives are the course is a great location in the Dublin mountains with some really good views from various locations around the course. Member of staff in the pro-shop was very nice. We enjoyed our round and @ €30 per head we cant complain too much.
Slade Valley
Staff super friendly. Practice area non existent. A net for a driving range. Farmers field for a putting and chipping area. Clubhouse is nice. Course as basic and as average as it gets. Pace of play was absolutely atrocious. 4 ball wouldn't let me through. Two women were absolutely shocking, the usual 10+ shots to get to the green. Horrorfic. Never again. It's miles away too. Course conditions were poor. Greens too small and lumpy. Played 10 holes and walked off. Never ever ever ever again. Only paid €23 thank god
I would advise to use a buggy as it is very hilly ( border line needing a Sherpa). Course conditions were not great due to the weather and alot of fallen leaves. I would like to play this course again in the summers day with firm fairways but definitely with a buggy.
a lovely track
a very nice track, well layed out, in great condition for this time of the year, definitely be bk again in the near future for a few more rounds
Great day
We really enjoyed the day out at Slade Valley. Course played well and the members and staff were all extra friendly.
Slade Valley
Beautiful scenery. A very well looked after course in great condition. Unfortunately to hilly for me but did enjoy the round and played to my handicap which surprised me as quite a demanding course.
Slade valley
I found this course very hilly and would not play it again without a buggy. Was quet expensive even on a bank holiday. Paid €40 but thought it was only worth about €25
Challenging course.
Short par 4s draw you into going for it but out of position tee shots put you in trouble. Lovely setting in the woodland Dublin mountains.
You should cone back and play this course now! Talk about a transformation!! Signage, greens, tee boxes, fairways - all A one!!! You were indeed correct to say courses potential was below par but change of staff and hardworking greens staff have brought Slade Valley to top notch condition
