The Links Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the ultimate in risk-reward golf. The architect, Tom Jackson, routed five holes along the bay and then wound the course inland across rolling undulations. In order to prevail against the blustery Gulf Coast winds, accuracy and proper club selection are essential, making it a true shot-maker's golf course. In addition to being right along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, the Baytowne Marina serves as a backdrop to the course, providing even more stunning views of the Emerald Coast. Of the four championship golf courses that Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers, the Links is one of the original two and also one of the most popular. Enjoyable Round in Destin

Plenty challenging from the back tees for this 60 year old. Shot 87 which included a couple of penalties as punishment for soft drives.

Greens had a lot of depth, important to take enough club with the stick in the back.

Pace of play was excellent. Would love to play again!

Enjoyed the Links very much. Greens were quick which was good. If I had to pick a couple of negatives for management. The greens are too firm. I didn't have to repair a ball mark all day. The need a marshall out there to speed up play.

Underrated Option in Destin

Look, this is a quirky/target golf course. Most people will not have a lot of room to bang driver out here and if you are struggling with your game you will get penalized out here. However, you have to think through your shots and options out here. A lot of water, doglegs, specific target yardages to hit, etc. I have played this golf course several times and I didn’t love it the first time because I didn’t throttle back and play as it was laid out to be.

Conditions are usually pretty good, you can often find tee times here and the relative value vs other destin courses is good.

Slow shotgun group.... awesome course/staff

Great course, love hitting it. Got out in first group, breezed through up until they put a fairly well known group of older northern people in a shotgun start. First 17 holes in 2 hours 15 minutes, last hole was 20 minutes. These guys are painfully slow, avoid them and you're in for a fun round.

Links is currently in excellent shape.

The fairways are lush with great lies.

The greens are firm, fast and true.

Some (not all) of the tees need a bit of attention. Some of them are a bit beat up.

Best value for the money on Sandestin.

I’ll preface by saying the starter did let our twosome go off about 45 minutes early, so that was greatly appreciated. We flew through the first 7 holes but then hit a train of groups and ended up waiting on every shot after. This likely isn’t the courses fault due to the amount of beginner golfers who play these courses while on vacation. It might help to have a marshall out on course trying to speed up play but that’s the only real fix I can see.

The course itself is beautiful. It’s very narrow with a ton of water, so bring some extra balls with you. Fairly short course and a lot of holes where you’re forced to leave the driver in the bag and lay up short of trouble. Would definitely play again!
