Hawarden Golf Club

First time playing Hawarden, but impressed. You have to think your way round and there are plenty of challenging holes and strategic bunkers. Would hope to score better 2nd time but doubt I would and suspect it may take a few more times to understand the course. It's that good and clever.

Slight concern that in August it was a bit boggy underfoot in parts (and yes I know we have had recent heavy storms). Ought not be though this time of the year, and maybe the course or holes are closed a fair bit during Winter. To be fair I'm only speculating this may be the case.

fantastic course greens very good excellent value for money would play again there r some hills to climb but well worth it

Down to 16 holes but otherwise excellent condition cant wait to go back in the summer.

Lovely scenery around course, was stuck behind a 4 ball comp so play was very slow. Course is very hilly so tough with lots of blind spots.

Too often courses are called "hidden gems" but this one is ! Three very picturesque and tricky holes : 8th, 9th and 18th. Hilly for the most part with a flatter finish. Beautiful surroundings and gorgeous country with some lovely houses overlooking the holes around the turn. Clubhouse small but functional and food very good. Golfnow deal outstanding !

The course was in great condition. The front 9 is hilly with some elevated tee shots and some hitting up hill. Would suggest a buggy if you find it hard to walk up and down hills. The 18th is a challenging finishing hole with danger everywhere but the green. Overall great course and will be back again.

Played the course in May 2018. I had played it previously and said next time I would use a buggy. I didn't and as a pensioner I found it short but hard walking. The layout is great with many interesting holes with the premium on accuracy. The course was in very good condition for the time of year after a very wet early spring. Staff and members in the clubhouse were friendly and they did a delicious bacon bap. For £10 a round each it was great value. A course for the physically fit or use a buggy but the buggy costs £25!

This is a testing course. Many of the holes are blind and when playing for the first time there is no course guide! It’s very hilly and I found it too demanding for the first time player. Members were very friendly as was the initial meeting but this is not a club I would consider joining if you and a learner. It’s a demanding course, well kept but definitely for the young and fit

Lovely course in great condition. Coffee machine in clubhouse a bit naff. Paper cups. Expect a bit better in a major club.

The course played well,but it was a very wet and windy day so not seen in its best light.Pro and catering staff very helpful

Course lovely great for exercise as a little hilly in places . Some picturesque greens had a great day
