Baytowne at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
About
Baytowne Golf Club at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is routed from the beach to the bay, providing stunning views along the way. The course rolls across the few elevation changes that the area has to offer. Although it opened in 1984, the golf course didn't reach its peak until it underwent extensive renovation in 2005, which were carried out by the original designer, Tom Jackson. The layout features rolling fairways lined with mature pines that are generous and times but can be tight when you least expect it. The large, undulating greens can also play faster than what you might be expecting. Water, which comes into play on 12 holes, is a prominent feature of Baytowne Golf Club as are the numerous bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Worst greens
Have never played on greens this bad.
Fairways, greens and tees were overgrown.
Such a shame as the course layout is great.
Immaculate Fairways - Worst Greens EVER
We booked this course through GolfNow and the pictures were incredible. Staff in the clubhouse was extremely friendly, but they never told us the conditions of the greens. From the tee box on number one we were well pleased with how well the fairways were manicured. When we got to the first green, we absolutely couldn’t believe it. Since we weren’t told of this, we thought it was a one or two hole thing. Every green was entirely unplayable. There is no way this course should charge more than $30 to play since every green is un-puttable. Very nice fairways but putting is kind of part of the game.
TERRIBLE GREENS!!!!!
So let’s just start off with, don’t be fooled by the 30% discount, this course is not playable, greens are absolutely terrible, they tell you the greens are not the best but still playable but not until you talk to the starter! this course should be closed until they can’t get their greens playable. I would not recommend playing even if it was free. Greens are where you score, you can’t do it at this course. Save your money and look elsewhere, biggest waste of $90 I’ve ever seen
Nice
The greens were under repair and were almost unplayable. Other than that it was a nice course. Would be better if there was a decent “19th hole”.
Worst greens I’ve ever seen
Do not pay more than $60 to play or you’ll be disappointed. The greens were lumpy and half dead. Horrible shape! The tee boxes have overgrown weeds all over them. The fairways are okay and do get better on the back 9. Course layout is great, it’s a shame they have let it get this bad.
All greens and most tee boxes are trashed
Worst greens and Tee box conditions I’ve ever seen on a high dollar course. Weeds, wrong height adjustment on the mower, dead spots, brown spots from fertilizer spills. You name it.
BayeTowne golf course in Miramar
This course was in the worst condition of any course I’ve ever played. Greens were un-puttable. I will never return.
Baytowne
The staff was friendly the golf carts and GPS worked as expected the fairways were in great shape ,,but the Greens were horrible ,, they hap some unknown grasses growing in them , and we weren’t told of this ,, I finished the front 9 walked into the Pro Shop and told the person at the counter the greens were pretty bad ,, and his response was ,, why do you think it’s only 89 dollars ,, the money wasn’t the issue ,, I want to be able to putt ,, so I’m giving this course a poor review ..
Terrible greens
The layout is fine Lots of water and sand in play. Sand had standing water in some places and seemed like caked mud in others. Greens were unputtable. Long and bumpy. Very frustrating. Until they should have told us ahead of time. Not worth playing until the greens are fixed.
Worst conditions
Worst ever and will not come back you guys should be ashamed we would been better off playing a par 3 course greens was the worst ever greens keeper should be fried been coming here for 29 years
Greens in rough shape
Greens were punched and sanded last week and were in better shape than yesterday. Looked like the greens mower was set too low and every one was scalped over the entire green. Putting was a challenge for 18 holes.
Otherwise we enjoyed the course and especially the back 9. We play this course and The Links every time we come down 3x year.
KIND OF SAD
I have always enjoyed this course in the past. However, the greens are in terrible shape and the bunkers are completely washed out. Clearly there has been a lot of rain but the course needs serious maintenance and attention. It should be better.
Do not play here until they get their act together
I played there yesterday after playing there probably 25 times previously. This was worse than a municipal course. All traps were washed out. Greens were browned out, and not been rolled or mowed. They were very bumpy. There was no one at the staging area to unload our clubs. There was no starter. Many of the tee boxes were full of weeds. The course, was soaking wet, yet a huge sprinkler head on the 18th fairway was going the whole time we played the hole. After the round, I went to the clubhouse told the staff person that I normally don’t complain and told him all of the above. Rather than give us a credit on a future green fee, his response was simply “I’m sorry.”
Greens are trash
Played here a few times and never seen the greens in such terrible condition
Wow
This course had everything. Diseased greens that hadn’t been mowed and you could hardly putt on, mud in every bunker, beat up tee boxes, even a dead possum in the cart path on #14. The fact that they charge a $100 green fee in the off season is almost criminal. I can’t believe this is a resort course. They would have to pay us to come back.
