About
Baytowne Golf Club at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is routed from the beach to the bay, providing stunning views along the way. The course rolls across the few elevation changes that the area has to offer. Although it opened in 1984, the golf course didn't reach its peak until it underwent extensive renovation in 2005, which were carried out by the original designer, Tom Jackson. The layout features rolling fairways lined with mature pines that are generous and times but can be tight when you least expect it. The large, undulating greens can also play faster than what you might be expecting. Water, which comes into play on 12 holes, is a prominent feature of Baytowne Golf Club as are the numerous bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Favorite Course—always a great experience
In my opinion, Baytowne is the prettiest course in the area with a great layout and great condition especially given this time of year. Hole #12 is by far, in my view, the most picturesque golf hole in the greater Destin area and it offers an excellent challenge as a par 5. #13 should be the #1 handicap, but at #2 I guess I can live with. All up hill making the joke play a lot longer and a tough green!
All in all, I look forward to coming to Destin to play Baytowne! Great value for the money without question.
Great Course for a resort
Course was in great shape. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Pace of play was steady with no waiting. Definitely recommend this or any of the Sandestin courses.

Great Track
The second time I played Baytowne and it didn’t disappoint. The staff was friendly, starter Bruce got us off right on time. The course was in VG condition, and the pace of play was fine. The greens were a little slow and some Tee boxes need ed some repair but otherwise I wouldn’t hesitate to play it again.

Would have been better, but....
Enjoyed our day but could have been so much better had it not been for the "fivesomes" that seemed all over the course. We were playing twilight, but isn't that a time when this shouldn't happen. quite enjoyed the course. Greens very good, but could be cut. Also no one at bag drop on arrival or departure. I would have brought all this up and had a drink, but alas everyone had gone home and so did I.

Nice facility - SLOW Greens!
I played Baytowne on 3/6/2023 and 3/8/2023. The layout is nice with a good variety of holes. As the Bermuda grass is not growing yet, there are some fairways that are pretty bare. But the biggest problem with all of the Sandestin courses is the speed of the greens. They are some of the slowest greens I have ever played. They will mess up your putting for other courses! If you don’t care about that, then it’s a good course to play.

Great layout Slow Greens
Of all the courses we have played this season this ranks number 2 for layout and conditions. One of the few that actually have playable tee to green conditions..
Greens are beautiful as well but running way to slow to allow you to score. Perfect for lawn bowling...lol We advised the proshop and they agreed perhaps they will lower the blades on the mower and take the speed from an 8 to at least a 10...hopefully they will and that will make it a perfect track.
If not bring the heaviest putter you have I know we all have a few go to in the closet.

Baytown
This was a very enjoyable round of golf. Staff was very helpful and we got out early. There was a range, chipping and putting green, all included. The course was in great shape and the greens were fast. It was a challenging course, but not over the top. We would play here again!

Worth playing
Booked on GN greay rate. Course wasin great shape, the staff was realy friendly. Free balls at the range. Starter got us off on time. Oit could be my puttimg skills but the greens were slw. Overall great time.

Fun Course
Nice course with challenging holes. Many bunkers so be ready for that. Select the right tees for a fun time. Greens were slow getting ready for season but in excellent shape. Would love to play with normal speed putting surface.

Greens were the slowest I’ve ever played.
Played Saturday, February 25th. Staff and starters were terrific however the slow speed of the greens ruined any concept of putting. Not certain if this was normal but the conditions spoiled our day.
