About
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers four 18-hole, championship courses designed by three renowned architects. Raven Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., was carefully carved through marshes, native wetlands, and towering pine forests. Jones created a layout that is hailed for being both modern and traditional. It is also notable for how it seamlessly flows into the surrounding nature. The golf course offers plenty of variety both in shot options and visual scenery. The diverse holes are accented by dramatic changes in color and texture throughout the landscape. Water comes into play frequently and there are a number of strategically placed sand traps. Golfers are presented with a myriad of different ways to play each hole, which means thoughtful strategy is a necessity. The golf course's large, undulating greens also make proper club selection essential.

Excellent layout! Very pretty course! Not too difficult to enjoy, but challenging enough to make one think about the kind of shot they should consider. If you get into trouble, play smart.
Horrible Greens
Overall enjoyed the course. Good layout and challenging holes. Only complaint was greens were in bad shape. Group in front of us were told greens were in rough shape and they received a discounted price off their green fees. We were mot told about the greens and paid full price for green fees. Overall good course but yesterday it was not worth then money we paid.

Bad greens no food on course
Greens had been punch 3 weeks ago. They looked fun but they weren’t recently cut or flattened. Impossible to putt. Also zero food on the golf course. No sandwiches or hotdogs. My tee time started at 2:10pm on a Saturday. For the price I expected more

Good track could be great
Staff in pro shop has the personality of a cannoli.
Some tee boxes in need of attention and some greens are getting crab grass, they are grainy and slow. Expected more at this price point.

Disappointed
We have played the Raven 20-30 times over the years. They had about 10 balls for everyone on the range. The practice green, well don’t even bother. The course was in OK shape, but it took us 4 1/2 hours to play. I guess we are spoiled. Reatta Bay was a bit cheaper, and a much better experience.

Course was beautiful, challenging but fair. Greens were top dressed a couple of days before our round so we’re not lightning quick but still rolled true. Good time!

Played the Raven on 6 Sep. Temp was 91* but not too humid. Course is in good shape with moderate green speed. Beverage cart on course with reasonable frequency. One real complaint - no access to water on course - just the beverage cart..

This course needs major attention.
Greens are terrible. Infiltrated with some kind of weed or grass. Slow, bumpy, grainy, ugly. Slow decline for three years. Cut lines from mowers on the greens. Bumpy cuts where the mower was driven too fast and caused the blades to bounce. Missed patches on greens. Quality control terrible. Fairways okay but there are places where the ball will plug even if the course is not wet. Lots of divots, blame the customer but a lot of times the carts don’t have sand on them. Carts are showing wear. Many have trouble shifting to reverse and forward. Broken cooler holders, broken rain cover magnets and mounts, Beverage cart and snack bar staff is awesome.

Great Course
Beautiful course, not too many houses for a resort style course. Tee boxes and fairways were great. The greens were recently aerified and top dressed which was disclosed to us. Would love to come back and play when the greens are in great shape.

Greens need work.
Greens on Raven are average at best. They are slow unless putting down hill. Grainy and slow up hill. Lots of weeds and infiltration of some foreign grass In some cases half of the green. Some holes have a near solid line of crabgrass between the fringe and the putting surface. Makes it very difficult to putt from the fringe. Sand was thin in a few bunkers. Tee boxes had thin grass in a lot of areas and worn spots. Portions of some tees never get used at all while other areas are worn out from overuse. Baytowne greens are even worse. Awful. Unputtable. And some tee boxes there and Links are badly sloping uneven bare and not level. I don’t see how the greenskeeper can drive by some of these places And fail to do something about it. Disappointing.
