About
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers four 18-hole, championship courses designed by three renowned architects. Raven Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., was carefully carved through marshes, native wetlands, and towering pine forests. Jones created a layout that is hailed for being both modern and traditional. It is also notable for how it seamlessly flows into the surrounding nature. The golf course offers plenty of variety both in shot options and visual scenery. The diverse holes are accented by dramatic changes in color and texture throughout the landscape. Water comes into play frequently and there are a number of strategically placed sand traps. Golfers are presented with a myriad of different ways to play each hole, which means thoughtful strategy is a necessity. The golf course's large, undulating greens also make proper club selection essential.

Great layout
Great layout. Water Water everywhere. Great pace of play 3.5 hrs in the early morning. Friendly staff.

Could be worse, could be better...
Amazing design, a shot makers course and very fun. The greens are terrible but not as bad as other public courses in the area.
Really need Marshalls on the course. About 10 groups got stuck behind some drunk guys and we didn't finish in 4 hours because of it.
They are short staffed on the maintenance crew or some such like most courses since the pandemic. They are taking short cuts on maintenance like no fringe around the greens, etc.
The carts are old and tired.
Staff is great. Price is good. It wouldn't take much to be a top course again however since it's still better than other local options I guess it doesn't matter to them.

Very dissapointed
I’ve played on Raven for years and have never seen it in such terrible condition. Greens were so long and bumpy.
Cups were awful, looked like it’s been weeks since they were moved. Fairways were in decent shape but very wet and slow. We haven’t had rain in weeks so it’s being manually over watered. I hope they can get it back in shape. It used to be one of our favorites.

Why allow a fivesome?
When our threesome teed off, we were told there were 2 foursomes about 20 minutes ahead of us. Imagine our surprise when we came upon a FIVESOME on the 3rd hole. Had to wait on every shot for the next 3 holes -- at which time they invited us to play through. Bad course management.

Raven Good not Great
Beautiful scenery and course layout. Fairways, tee boxes, bunkers and rough were perfect. Everyone working was extremely nice. There was a bev cart and a halfway house between 9 & 10. Played in under 4 hours.
Unfortunately the greens were extremely slow and grainy - est stimp at 7. Heard this is the norm rather than the exception. They looked healthy so not sure why they are cut so high. Possibly due to high play volume year round.
We got finished 30 minutes before sundown and everything was shut down, including bathrooms. There were about 30 people milling about all wondering why the proshop and snack bar / restaurant were closed.
I will play again, if I can get the $65 Hot Deal rate, but with lower expectations.

Terrible greens, crappy rental clubs, terrible value
This is my first time playing Raven. Terrible value for the price! The greens were bumpy and slow and had crabgrass surrounding them. The rental clubs were poor quality and were beat to crap. They also had a weird club setup (D, 3W, 5W, 4H, 5- 56 deg SW). No 3H, no gap wedge, no 60) with no option to change to another set. Course layout was good and the fairways were nice. Otherwise don’t waste your money on this course - there are many other better courses in Destin/Sandestin.

Excellent layout! Very pretty course! Not too difficult to enjoy, but challenging enough to make one think about the kind of shot they should consider. If you get into trouble, play smart.

Horrible Greens
Overall enjoyed the course. Good layout and challenging holes. Only complaint was greens were in bad shape. Group in front of us were told greens were in rough shape and they received a discounted price off their green fees. We were mot told about the greens and paid full price for green fees. Overall good course but yesterday it was not worth then money we paid.
