About
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers four 18-hole, championship courses designed by three renowned architects. Raven Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., was carefully carved through marshes, native wetlands, and towering pine forests. Jones created a layout that is hailed for being both modern and traditional. It is also notable for how it seamlessly flows into the surrounding nature. The golf course offers plenty of variety both in shot options and visual scenery. The diverse holes are accented by dramatic changes in color and texture throughout the landscape. Water comes into play frequently and there are a number of strategically placed sand traps. Golfers are presented with a myriad of different ways to play each hole, which means thoughtful strategy is a necessity. The golf course's large, undulating greens also make proper club selection essential.

This course needs major attention.
Greens are terrible. Infiltrated with some kind of weed or grass. Slow, bumpy, grainy, ugly. Slow decline for three years. Cut lines from mowers on the greens. Bumpy cuts where the mower was driven too fast and caused the blades to bounce. Missed patches on greens. Quality control terrible. Fairways okay but there are places where the ball will plug even if the course is not wet. Lots of divots, blame the customer but a lot of times the carts don’t have sand on them. Carts are showing wear. Many have trouble shifting to reverse and forward. Broken cooler holders, broken rain cover magnets and mounts, Beverage cart and snack bar staff is awesome.

Great Course
Beautiful course, not too many houses for a resort style course. Tee boxes and fairways were great. The greens were recently aerified and top dressed which was disclosed to us. Would love to come back and play when the greens are in great shape.

Greens need work.
Greens on Raven are average at best. They are slow unless putting down hill. Grainy and slow up hill. Lots of weeds and infiltration of some foreign grass In some cases half of the green. Some holes have a near solid line of crabgrass between the fringe and the putting surface. Makes it very difficult to putt from the fringe. Sand was thin in a few bunkers. Tee boxes had thin grass in a lot of areas and worn spots. Portions of some tees never get used at all while other areas are worn out from overuse. Baytowne greens are even worse. Awful. Unputtable. And some tee boxes there and Links are badly sloping uneven bare and not level. I don’t see how the greenskeeper can drive by some of these places And fail to do something about it. Disappointing.

Not enough stations at the range for the two courses that have access , ran out of balls bc so many were using the facility.

Must Play Course!!
This course was in great shape and has the perfect amount of bunkers and hazards but still fun to navigate shots. Greens were in great shape as well!

Course was in great condition, however, would have been nice to have known that the greens were just aerated.

My favorite course in Destin
The layout and condition make this the best course in Destin IMHO. The staff is great, but some of the older first tee marshals have a bit of an attitude.

Beautiful Course
First course in Florida I’ve ever played and it was absolutely stunning. Exceeded all expectations. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend playing if you’re in the Destin/Miramar Beach area.

Course was very nice. Fairways and tee boxes were great. Only problem was aeration on all the greens and a couple bad ones. Going to take a couple weeks for them to get to rolling good. Wasn’t even worth putting anything close - no pure rolls. Just putt and pray.
Staff was friendly except for Marshall who suggested we speed up or potentially skip a hole (because a threesome in three carts had caught up to our foursome in two) when we were only seven minutes behind nine holes in. Other than that, solid experience- would come back in future if prices stay around $100.

Was very nice despite the aeration. Fun course. Super hot out but plenty of places to hide in the shade. No water on the course so bring plenty
