Emerald Bay Golf Club

One of the staff behind the counter made a scene because my wife did not have a collard shirt on. My wife was riding with me on the course, and the guy asked if she had a different shirt to put on because she had a non collared shirt on. Afterwards, we noticed there was another lady wearing a non collard shirt. There was also a guy who had fill flops on playing golf. If you pay $30 to just ride in the golf cart it shouldn’t matter what you have on. Additionally, the golf carts shut down on the cart path about 15 times. One hole had to be completely navigated in reverse. When calling to report to the clubhouse, the phone was never answered. When returning to the clubhouse after the round was over, the carts had to be left on the cart path because they shut down.

Emerald Bay was a good choice to play. Excellent friendly staff, nice facilities and on course service. Fairways were in good shape and greens overall were fine, some spots need attention as the summer season comes. Pace was excellent until the back 9 when a 5 some grounded things to a halt and a foursome of old gentlemen struggling leading them. Just a bit pricey but you are in Destin.

I read some reviews about how the course isn’t in perfect shape which I find crazy. It’s in pretty darn good shape. Is it a 5 star? No… but it’s pretty darn close. Staff was 5 star. Guy in the club house escorted us to our first hole. A couple of greens had some dead spots but the pins were placed no where near them. The course was in great shape. If you are in Destin you should absolutely play this course. Very beautiful course. It’s challenging if the pins are in the right spots and overall I give it a 4.5 star. Will definitely be back.

The course was in very good condition. Season still a little early. Tee boxes were a little used and could use a little LLC, but did not detract from a good course.

I definitely recommend playing the course when visiting the area.

Having played a number of courses in the area when on vacation I prefer good value as opposed to great course conditions unless there is an exceptional course in the area. I want good conditions - I don’t need lush to play good golf and enjoy myself. The course is very wide and forgiving so it was beneficial for some in our group who don’t play regularly. There were a few bare/dry patches but this is the season for those and they were not an issue. Suspect other courses are the same. The greens were quick and rolled true, again with a few areas that looked slightly dry. The people at the Emerald Bay were helpful and friendly, the beverage cart came by repeatedly, the pace of play was excellent and the course was in good shape. Knowing other courses in the area and given prices I have paid at some of those courses I would have no hesitation in playing here again next time we visit.

Course looked good from the clubhouse but quickly went down hill. Fairways were starving for water, many bare spot on almost ALL fairways and some greens as well. Cart paths have suffered lack of maintenance with many broken and up-heaved portions. The one bathroom I used was was dirty and the sink and toilet looked like they had been installed by a DIY guy. I lost over $200 to play this course ( my wife and I). The next day we played Rocky Bayou CC, for under $50 each and while it also had its rough spots the rest of the course was acceptable for the price.

Overall enjoyed the course and round. Wish they had informed us that the front & was cart path only and the back was 90 degree prior to us booking full price. Had prepaid so we were stuck on a slow round.

Nice but not too fancy. Nice carts, clubhouse, staff. Conditions are good, but maybe not $120 good. Would play again tho.

Course was well worth it for the money here in Destin. Starter sent a single with us to make a 4some, then we got passed within first 6 holes by 2- 2'somes, a 3-some and a single. Pro-shop sent the starter out and said we're slow... I said of course we are... You could have done a better job. Greens were in good shape and rolled nice. Enjoyed it all together other than the 5.5 hr round
