About
Located right along the water, Emerald Bay Golf Club was designed by Bob Cupp to be Destin's premier full-service, 18-hole championship course. Water is a prominent feature as the course overlooks the shores Choctawhatchee Bay and incorporates water features on 12 of the holes. Oftentimes golfers will face an intimidating shot across a lake or a pond. Emerald Bay Golf Club's sculpted fairways and tight greens are always in excellent condition. There are four sets of tees that make the golf course accessible to most players' abilities and no matter what skill level you are, the views are not to be missed. The views are especially breathtaking on the back nine, which borders the bay. There is also an expansive driving range at Emerald Bay that golfers can use before playing the golf course.

Great layout, fun course!
Overall, I was very happy with the experience. Great golf course but I was a little disappointed the clubhouse closed at 5 PM so wasn’t able to go in after the round to grab a drink or do some shopping in the pro shop. Some of the tea boxes were at ragged and Sandy but otherwise the course was in very good shape. Only other recommendation I would make is to accept credit cards from the drink cart on the course. That was a bit of an inconvenience having to pay cash.

Failed to meet my expectations
I rated the overall course as average, at best. I expected a much better conditioned course for the price. It didn’t compare to other courses we played in Destin, FL.

Golfing with couples
Good course to play. Play a little slow. Need a marshal to help pace of play.

Great course!!
I always enjoy playing this course and try to get there every year. It’s a great layout and in decent condition for this time of year. The place was pretty busy but we played in just under 4 hours which was great!! The only issue I would have is that green fees have went up a quite a bit in the area at all the courses. Anyway, the staff is great and hope to play there again next year when I’m down!!

A bad p as iting
It was not the courses fault that we got paired up with a guy who talked way too much and got a bit too close...on the fringe of our personal space. This was our 7th round in Panama City Destin area and by far the worst conditions. The starter was friendly but the course was just average

Ok but overpriced
For $120 this course was overpriced for the condition. I have played better courses for less money. Baytowne was way nicer for the money.

Fivesomes!!??
We had a foursome and there were fivesomes in front of and behind us! This caused problems! The course seems to allow late tee times and we did not finish 18. Everyone was having to play speed golf just to finish 16 holes. Not fun!! The course seems to try to maximize $$ by allowing fivesomes and late tee times. Course in general was in nice condition, Range tees need TLC!! They seem to be over priced for the course condition and design as compared to other nicer courses in the area. Don't know how they were voted "recent best course in the area"...!!!.

Need to hit it straight
Helps to have someone who has played the course give you tips the first time you play, lots of water and trees. Greens read true. Was told the were rolled frequently. Glad I was not playing match play with handicap, because hole handicap seemed strange, a par 5 that I reached with a drive and 2 middle irons was rank harder than a par 3 which took a great 3 hybrid to reach.

Worth the look
The course was in good condition for February. Greens were decent speed wise. Would recommend.

Very shabby conditions for the price! Greens were slow and had bare spots, the gps units were off by up to 30 yards, maybe it will improve when the tourists show up?
