About
Located right along the water, Emerald Bay Golf Club was designed by Bob Cupp to be Destin's premier full-service, 18-hole championship course. Water is a prominent feature as the course overlooks the shores Choctawhatchee Bay and incorporates water features on 12 of the holes. Oftentimes golfers will face an intimidating shot across a lake or a pond. Emerald Bay Golf Club's sculpted fairways and tight greens are always in excellent condition. There are four sets of tees that make the golf course accessible to most players' abilities and no matter what skill level you are, the views are not to be missed. The views are especially breathtaking on the back nine, which borders the bay. There is also an expansive driving range at Emerald Bay that golfers can use before playing the golf course.

Hot day
The course was nice, a little dry, but not bad. The greens were recovering from aeration, but not in terrible shape. There were a couple of them that bounced the ball around, but we were warned before we made tee times, and they were nicer than we anticipated, so no complaints. Not used to this Bermuda grass, so that was different. Glad to get that experience. Nothing to compare it too except Chicago area courses, (a lot of Kentucky blue etc.) A lot of water hazards especially on the back nine. Lost a few balls but that's what happens when you don't connect properly every time.
The staff was very nice and attentive to our needs. The carts are very nice and love the GPS. I didn't see any ball washers on the course, and no place with fresh water to dunk a towel on the 1st and 10th hole. I know its dry and sandy, but they should have those on every golf course. But not something that we couldn't get around. Up north they even include club scrubbers on the carts on some courses. (I get it, the black dirt and mud thing.)
All in all, it was a great time playing with my two sons, and I would play here again in a heartbeat.

Fun layout
Course is fun. Greens were punched early in the month so they were still a little rough and slow. Other than that, not many complaints.

Great Track
This course had a great layout. Would have been good to know that it had been closed down for 3 days for aeration but even with that it was in good condition. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were able to get our 2-person group off earlier which allowed for a quicker pace of play.

Greens need a little work
Fairways in good condition, but greens were a little sparse in places. Enjoyed the course, just not in peak shape at this point.

Annual round
We play a round here every year on vacation. The pace of play was much worse this year than previous years. We enjoy the course and the staff.

Very playable
Would have been a good add to have a ranger out - 4 in front slowed things down - cart technology can keep club house posted on gaps opening up - they were clearly enjoying themselves to the point they were not aware of their pace
That said played it before and would recommend it and play it again
