About
Located right along the water, Emerald Bay Golf Club was designed by Bob Cupp to be Destin's premier full-service, 18-hole championship course. Water is a prominent feature as the course overlooks the shores Choctawhatchee Bay and incorporates water features on 12 of the holes. Oftentimes golfers will face an intimidating shot across a lake or a pond. Emerald Bay Golf Club's sculpted fairways and tight greens are always in excellent condition. There are four sets of tees that make the golf course accessible to most players' abilities and no matter what skill level you are, the views are not to be missed. The views are especially breathtaking on the back nine, which borders the bay. There is also an expansive driving range at Emerald Bay that golfers can use before playing the golf course.

Generous Fairways
The course was wet when I played it so it played a bit long
from the No. 3 tees Generous Fairways and adequate greens. Greens were a bit slow. There is long par 3, about 200 yds, but the green is quite large which provides some fairness. I recall that one of par 5's is really long, requiring a driver, 4 wood and 6 iron. I would love to play it again in dry conditions. Enjoy!!!!

Good course, greens need work.
Course layout was good and staff was very friendly. Green speed was very inconsistent for such a nice course. Expected better greens for the $$$.

Great Place for Vacation Golf
The course was in great shape from tee to green. Staff was friendly and helpful. The woman driving the beverage cart made frequent appearances.

Good
Nice course. It helped we were the first group out so pace of play was not an issue. A bit pricey but not unexpected during 4th of July week. Course was in good shape and pro shop was very nice. Only small complaint, there was no where to buy water at 7am and none on the cart. Did not see cart girl until after the turn.

Someone needs to learn how to mow greens
Overall course was nice, but greens left a lot to be desired. Greens were very, very slow and chopped up from mower, never seen before.

Great Course
Course was in excellent shape, staff was competent and friendly. There are 5 tee boxes so you can play hard or have fun, I choose fun ( middle ). My only complaint was the green speed (slower than I’m used to).

You definitely get what you pay for in the destin area!
However with emerald if you keep looking at golfnow they are one of those courses that put new HOT tee times up the day of action.. I grabbed one at 69.99 at 730 am, was an 1103 tee time.. If you do find a better course in the area your easily paying over 100$. Course was thought through in depth when designing the layout.. the 5 tees help to play the course that is almost exact to your handicap.. you will know which tee box you should be playing from as soon as you step up on no. 1.. excellent fairways and bunbers.. greens were manicured nicely.. Just a little to slow for my liking.. they are difficult although they look simple.. so with that said overall great course.. one of destins hidden gems.. two things to know that will help your score.. rough looks easy, but it slows your club head up about 20% more than you would expect and when putting, make sure you get it up the hill and don't depend on gravity going down hill.. the break? There isn't really much.. but where there is its difficult to read... IT DOES ALWAYS BREAK TORWARD THE WATER HERE.

Decent course, but the back tee boxes were in terrible shape.

Good value good time
Course was in vg condition. Greens are small but fair but a little slow. 4 some played 18 in about 3 1/2 hours. Will go back.

NEEDS WORK
Upon arrival, I asked the lady behind the pro shop counter, Morgan, if there is anything we needed to know about course conditions, etc. Morgan told us we knew everything that was pertinent and Addison was driving the beverage cart and we would see her. Low and behold, we get to the 2nd hole and were informed on the screen that hole was CPO (cart path only). This was repeated on the 3rd, 4th and 6th holes. Then we get a message that holes 9 and 11 (non-par 3s) were also CPO. We called the golf shop about not yet having seen Addison and were told she had left at noon. Morgan told us a message had been sent stating that fact. We told her we received no such message. Less than 2 minutes later, a message was received about no further beverage cart service. VERY DISAPPOINTING being lied to for no reason.
Will DEFINITELY NOT BE RETURNING. Much burn out on fairways and tees. Greens were slow but in good condition. Can NOT recommend.
