About
Located right along the water, Emerald Bay Golf Club was designed by Bob Cupp to be Destin's premier full-service, 18-hole championship course. Water is a prominent feature as the course overlooks the shores Choctawhatchee Bay and incorporates water features on 12 of the holes. Oftentimes golfers will face an intimidating shot across a lake or a pond. Emerald Bay Golf Club's sculpted fairways and tight greens are always in excellent condition. There are four sets of tees that make the golf course accessible to most players' abilities and no matter what skill level you are, the views are not to be missed. The views are especially breathtaking on the back nine, which borders the bay. There is also an expansive driving range at Emerald Bay that golfers can use before playing the golf course.

Nice course - off season
I really enjoyed playing Emerald Bay. I can’t rate it too highly for conditions due to it being off season. The greens were fast but just so-so overall. The course has some very challenging holes and others that are more “friendly” to the high handicapper. Our biggest problem was pace of play - close to 5 hours. Not too good if you book an early afternoon tee time. Overall a nice place to play.

Nice course
Enjoyed playing at Emerald Bay. There are challenging holes and then some that give you a break Good balance. Practice facilities are nice. Staff very helpful.

Mismanaged tee sheet & business
Course was packed yet they still allowed 22 members to cram in who had only booked 3 tee times. They put a 6-some in front of us and had a walking 2-some out in the middle of an over- scheduled day. We teed off 25 minutes late and waited every shot. When we finally finished, they closed the grill 5 minutes after we came in - and with half a parking lot full of cars from golfers yet on the course. I hope they weren’t thirsty or hungry.

Winter February 2022
Pace of play very average to slow. Too many golfers, spaced too close together. When carts get close to green they stop without warning. Requires figuring out what to do, No warnings posted on course. Somewhat wet on fairway 1, 9, which requires walking to ball. This slows play if you don’t walk well. Greens show the heavy traffic and cups were shaggy.

Emerald Bay has a game for all level of players
I have played three times in the past 10 days. The course was pretty crowded but we finished in just about four hours each time. A couple holes required cart path only due to recent rain but after that it was clear sailing. It has some challenging holes especially in 25 mph winds as we experienced one day. We wanted to play there again this week but waited too late to make tee times. We will fix that next week.

Nice variety of golf holes
Course layout has a good variety of holes. Tee boxes and most fairways are in good shape. Nice practice area. Greens are slow rolling about an 8 with some bumpy spots. Good value for $70 but not the condition of Kelly Plantation or Regatta Bay at this time.
