Northop tri
The staff were very helpful when we arrived; we have visited quite a few times over the years.
The course itself was in outstanding condition; fairways were a pleasure to play off and the greens were in fabulous condition.
A really good days golf.
Thanks all at Northop GC

Four of us decided to play the course, as our course had a local competition taking place. We found the course in excellent condition, the greens in particular. The staff were very welcoming and made our visit most enjoyable.
Great Day
Course is in fantastic condition and greens are perfect.
Couldn't ask for better.
Still a bit wet
Course still a bit wet and very soft in parts.
Greens are very good though.
Northup

Unplayable conditions
I can only judge this course on what I found on the day. Played this course for the 1st time as part of the Gateway to Wales golf festival in May 2024 Due to heavy rain during the week the course was closed Thursday open for 12 holes on Friday and completely open on Saturday. The 1st nine holes had obviously suffered from the heavy rain eg bunkers completely full of water waterlogged sections etc. what I didn’t know was that this was the best part of the course. The back nine was like a scene from the Somme - mud water saturated ground. So bad that there was 2 feet deep puddle on a fairway with ducks swimming in the rainwater and losing balls in the deep floodwater. In my opinion the course was in an unplayable condition and should never have opened for 18holes. I realise that to cancel the competition it would cost the club money but it would have been wiser to play front 9 twice or restrict it to 9holes.
Someone has to take responsibility in allowing the course to open in deplorable conditions.whether it is the golf club or Gateway to Wales organisers but it certainly did not enhance the reputation of golf in Wales which resulted in some very unhappy golfers who are unlikely to return to this course
Good but not back to being great!
Played Northop loads. When it’s dry it’s a great course. The amount of rainfall they’ve had means it’s not back to its best at the minute but still a good challenge. Give it a few weeks to dry out (hopefully) and the course will be back to its best.
Still great value for money. Check the club website before you go as we didn’t and all the signs said ‘carry only’ when we got there! Luckily it had changed that day and we could use trolleys.
Still had a good day.
Probably like most courses - still a bit wet in parts.
Bit disappointed that all tees were still off mats which shortens most holes.
Review
Great days weather for October . There has been alot of rain in previous days , so that consider the course was in great condition, a bit soft , the greens however were excellent. Very enjoyable
Good parkland course
A good course. We were advised it wasn’t in its best condition due to a lot of rain in recent weeks, and it was very damp underfoot. We enjoyed it all the same. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Recommend.
Great Course
Played here about 10 years ago and sincebthen the course has matured greatly.Grwat setting and layout really enjoyed the round
Great value
Beautiful course and in tiptop condition. Worth every penny and will certainly play again.
Good golfing
Fairways are in good condition but greens are fantastic.
Had a really good day but it helps if you play pretty well. 😏
Excellent course
2nd time i have played here and i will be back. Love this course
August 23
Played this course exactly a year ago and said I’d return.
Pace of play was good at just over 3 hours following an elderly 2 ball and 4 ball in front of them.
Course in good condition despite the rain that has fallen.
All in all, I will return to this delightful course.
Returned after 1 year
Played this course exactly a year ago and always planned to return. Green were good, the person wasn’t. Live this course with its varied holes and hazards. Pace of play was just over 3 hours and that was following 2 elder gentlemen.
Course didn’t suffer with the recent rain.
All in all, a perfect day golfing
