Golfers standing on the Ranch’s first tee might feel, for a second, that they’re on a links course. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The seventh green. This hole is typical of the par-4’s here: fairly long and definitely challenging. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021
-
The ninth, par-5, 540. “Glacier,” as this hole is dubbed, plays straight downhill. And a bad drive may lead to a “meltdown.” Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

Sixteen, par-5, 618. Another dramatic downhiller named “Ski Hill,” which certainly suggests the thrill of playing it. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

The 18th: par-4, 438. A fitting closer, but also a hole that captures the beauty of New England golf at its finest. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 10/19/2021

Every hole was an unique experience
What a beautiful day. Not the best day but a nice day with friends. How many of you had said that before? 77 degrees, a little wind and plenty of sunshine. The greens rolled beautifully. It took a little while to get used to them but once you made the adjustment to the speed they were true. We played the whites which made it more pleasurable for two of our senior guys (Todd & Arnie). I wasn't able to use the driver as much as I would have liked to and when I did use it and shouldn't have I paid for it. I would like to go back and try the blues to see if it opens the course up a little bit. The bunkers were very inconsistent and most were not raked at all. Some areas should be more clearly identified. It would have been helpful if the card or the electronic thigamagig in the Kart told us what was OB and Red Staked. Go in the ruff and your in trouble. I suppose its the challenge of the course however I would have rather had a first cut of ruff off the fair way maybe a inch or inch in a half rather than three inches. I hit some pretty descent shots that barely rolled off the fair way and into the ruff and definitely paid for it. Mixed emotions about that. The starter and Marshall's were exceptionally friendly and did a great job spotting a few blind shots. The staff in the pro shop and dining area were just the opposite. They were not very friendly, were not able to answer detailed questions and the service at the turn was abnormally slow. I believe they were getting ready for a large outing and we were last on their list to please. Otherwise, I would definitely play it again but only if I had a Golf Now discount that kept the price at $85 or less. $75 seems to be a fair price for a course of that caliber however I would never play there if it was at there normal rate of $110. My team won a small amount of money for the day otherwise I probably wouldn't have taken the time to write this. Ha
Absolutly Beautiful !!
This was one of my top 5 courses. I'm not rich so I haven't played the typical top ones you always hear about. I live in the Northwest so I've played Chambers Bay, Gold Mt / Olympic, Coeur d'Alene Resort, All the Suncadia resort courses, all the courses in Whistler BC and many very nice southern Ca courses for example. This beat them all.
It was set up tournament quality. 5" of rough everywhere greens at 11+. Very fun and challenging. You don't get to play this level of place very often. Could be very frustrating for players with hdcp of 18 or more. At least when I played.
Course well maintained
Course well maintained. There had been heavy rains the night before, since the golf carts were restricted to the cart path some of the GPS feature were severally comprimised.
Outstanding Day!
Easily one of New England's finest public offerings! The course was in excellent condition, as it always is. The rough was thick and penal, but not anything that took away from the experience of playing a top rated course.
If ever you have the opportunity, place it on your New England "bucket list".
Excellent experience
Amazing, love it!!! Very friendly staff awesome conditions and great layout!!!
Everthing you want and more
From Tee Box to Green everything was right. This course has a great layout, its challenging but the risk/reward on down hill holes is spectacular. Plenty of area for scoring and well worth the Golf Now Deal of the day. This was a $110 tee time but we paid a third of that with Golf Now. Maybe not worth the $110.00 fee but it is attractive at the normal $85 special. Another great New England Course.
Special facility.
Amazing--- practice area; scenery and elevation changes; conditions (except greens); service; design (reachable par 5's and normal length par 3's).
Greens were poor this day-- aerated recently; DRY; close to unplayable on the front. Very disappointing for a course of this caliber.
Make sure you play the right tees for you.
Worth a special trip-- if you have the GolfNow discount.
Amazing greens and fairways
I absolutely LOVE this course. It's over a 2 hour ride for me to get there but is absolutely worth it. It gives you a pro tournament feel at a public facility. The greens aren't lightening fast but are definitely quick. They roll very true and allow you to make a nice smooth putting stroke even on longer putts so you don't feel like you need to smash it to the hole. The tee boxes are in incredible condition and fairways are nice and tight with beautiful landscaping, rolling fairways and elevation changes. If you want to play this course smart, it's definitely setup for you to be coming in from 150yds out on just about every hole but gives a lot of great risk-reward opportunities. I love the options around some of the greens with really the really tight first cut. More often than not you can putt from way off the green. Definitely a must play course!
Interesting layout challenging
the course is enjoyable but there pricing is high. If it wasn't for golfnow I wouldn't have played there.
Not worth the money
Nice layout but not worth the expensive greens fees. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Just look for the yellow barn
What a place. The elevation changes alone are worth the trip. Great shape, many unique holes and a shot makers paradise.. Cool clubhouse and make sure to eat after the round. An all around great day. From the warmup facility to the19th hole. Enjoy.
