Such a friendly club
We have played Bryn a few times, and always feel more than welcome in the pro-shop, clubhouse and hotel. It’s not the longest course but you will need to plot your way around. Having said that, there are a few places where you can launch into tee shot, but make sure you put it in the right place. I think they make the best use of the space they have and with a couple of quirky holes it is a good test of golf.
Nice course to play
First time we played here staff was very friendly and course was in good condition well sign posted we all enjoyed it and will be back club house nice to chill after game have a nice beer and watch players finishing 18 th hole
Almost perfect
Overall excellent experience at this fine club. The staff were very helpful especially informative as this was our first visit. The majority of holes were in great condition, but one or two fairways seemed a little overlooked and it was hard to differentiate with the first cut. But that's minimal. Without a golf GPS app I would have struggled to find my way to several tees, the signage wasn't super clear to a first time visitor. However the course is beautifully laid out and spacious enough so that with a 4 ball in front and 2 behind we didn't cross paths with anyone else apart from the first tee. A nice 3 layer green / chip area is located right by the first tee which was helpful but nothing for long range practise. There was a short par 3 course which was offered as a warm up, however for me a driving range right next to the clubhouse is always preferential for my warm up routine. This addition, in my view, would have made the visit perfect. But again a small gripe on an overall delightful course. I would recommend walking this it's a pleasant walk and not too taxing.
Surprising
Course was in great condition considering the recent wet weather. Tee shots had some roll and the greens were very good.
Watch out for the Sunday comps, playing alone I got caught up a bit, but eventually was let through ( I know they didn't have to let me through ). Flew round after that.
Very enjoyable course, will play again.
Great conditions considered
Very surprised at how the course was kept in wet cold conditions. Lots of green keepers blowing away leaves, obviously lots of work going into it. Would definitely play again this time of year
Will definitely return.
There were 8 of us (ranging from 8 - 22 HCPs) and we arranged to come here and play 2x4 Balls. We think £25 for 18 holes is good value. We were all pleasantly surprised with the on-course conditions (considering we played middle of November).
The course layout is really good! And some really nice holes to play. All the par 3's, in particular hole 13 really stood out. There is some challenging par 4's with dog legs and sloping fairways.
The only negative for a few of us was the Par 4, 10th Hole. It has a green placed on top of practically a mountain. (I think there is scope to turn that into a short, easier Par 3 or a shorter, challenging par 3 based on where you'd position your tee box or green).
We are definitely going to return, most likely to see how the course plays in the summer time.
Busy day
Late morning booking and course was busy as expected. Flowed quite well and a decent mix of risk and reward holes for the bigger hitters.
Winter woes!
Course layout is good - other than strange 10th hole! - but we felt that maintenance let it down. Greens had too much grass, greens and fairway fringe grass was left too long imo. May be due to time of year, but still a negative aspect.
Lovely course but played in very wet conditions.
Some problems with directions especially from the 9th green to the 10th tee
Great condition
Great time at Bryn meadows, greens are true and fairways are quality.
Fantastic Greens
Course was in a really good condition considering the time of year (late September) and all the heat we've had this year. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in very good condition. Was playing on my own, and got let through a number of times meaning I had a great pace until a bit of a hold up on the 16th.
Scenic course
This parkland course isn't the longest but it is tricky. There is one hole where you hit up to an elevated greeen. No. 10 I think - a real challenge!. The greens were in good condition. The location could be better signposted. All in all, a good experience.
