Cottrell Park Golf Club - The Mackintosh Course

About
The historic parkland of Cottrell Park is set in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan and it is an idyllic setting for a golfing venue. Cottrell is very conveniently located, being only a few miles from Cardiff and it's International Airport. The beautiful parkland covers over 400 acres and offers breathtaking views sweeping northwards as far as the Brecon Beacons and southwards over the Bristol Channel to the Mendips. The golfing facilities include two championship golf courses, the Mackintosh, (6,499 yards off the white tees), and the Button Gwinnett, (6,192 yards off the white tees), as well as an all weather floodlit driving range, putting greens and golf practice areas.
A True parkland, par-72 course with mature trees up to 300 years old. The Mackintosh provides 6,499 challenging yards off the championship tees and is designed around the original features of the historic parkland. With excellent drainage providing summer golf all year, this course includes four par 5s, four par3s and 10 par 4s, making the Mackintosh a testing but enjoyable walk.

Top course!
Excellent condition course. Good greens. Some challenging holes but still a user friendly layout. No issue in recommending!
Excellent course
Lived up to its reputation from other reviews. Cracking course which is very playable for all ability levels. Plenty of variety in the layout on the mackintosh.
Condition was excellent throughout and all the members/ staff we interacted with were warm with their welcome. This set a great atmosphere and is a credit to the club. Will certainly go back to play the button.
Nice Course - Well maintained
Played here today as a 2 ball.
Caught behind 2 4 balls unfortunately, made the round quite slow.
Course in really great condition mostly, 1 or 2 patchy greens. Very fast and true.
Some nice holes and challenging enough on the front 9.

Very user friendly
At this time of year, you do expect the weather and course to be damp but to be fair the course was in great condition and we had lovely sunshine for most of the round.
Fantastic course and club
Great weather topped it off, great condition and people at the ckub
Cracking
One of the nicest courses I’ve played in a while.staff were really friendly as were the members.will definitely recommend playing the both courses
Great course
Both courses are kept to a very high standard. The wind was relentless but still a good challenge. A great mix of holes with features and simpler holes. Lots of mowers which was the only small frustration. 5 of them on one hole was a bit over the top!
Recommend a visit
Played the Button course today, good condition for the time of year, will be going back when the weather gets better. Would recommend a visit
well managed course
after my first time playing cottrell park i must say that it is a well maintained course with friendly staff.
the fairways was nice and bouncy even after a night of rain also the greens are fast and fresh.
overall a nice course that would suit all ability
Cracking course
Had a cracking day on this course. After a weekend of terrible weather the course was in great condition. Greens were surprisingly firm and running very quickly. Staff were great when we arrived and members were very friendly too.
Will definitely be returning to this fantastic club.
