About
The Aquila Golf Course facility offers two golf courses; one is a championship length course while the other is a par-3, nine-hole course. The championship course provides an excellent game of golf for an affordable price. There are scenic views of mountains and downtown Phoenix as well as a challenging layout featuring several water hazards and bunkers. Although the terrain is rather hilly, it is still relatively walkable. The course has an excellent range of holes that each have a unique character, the par 5's are especially notable. Native grasses and wildflowers are also present on Aquila's Championship course, further adding to its natural beauty.

Pace of play
The course was in pretty good shape and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. But the pace of play was slow. I felt like there could’ve been a ranger speeding up some people up ahead . And then there was no ice in the ice machine and it was hot.
Great shape for late May
Enjoyed a great day on GRASS!
Other courses are brown or bare but
Aguilar is in great shape
Interesting Layout and Great Value
A Phoenix City Park and Rec course that turned out to be a surprisingly excellent course.
Great value for a challenging course with a very interesting and sometimes unique hole layouts. Challenging in length on a quarter of the holes.
Love the course, nice layout, fun to play, good practice area, friendly people, good food. The only issue was they had way too many people on the course, the tee times must’ve been too tight because there were multiple holes. We had three groups on the hole, and sometimes we had two groups at the tee, 5 1/2 hour round. I look forward to playing this course again, but maybe not on a Saturday or when it’s hotter and there won’t be so many people.
Pace of play
Played on a weekday, and as usual, pace of play was slow. Finished 30 mins behind pace, with a 5-some in front of us all day and no ranger in sight until the 16tth, when the Manager finally came out to ask how things were going. Of course, by then why bother saying anything? If you're going to allow a 5-some on the course, ENSURE THEY'RE KEEPING UP. Last 2 times before today I left early because of slow play, once after 3 hrs 5 mins to get through 12. It's a nice course, but poorly managed. ALWAYS SLOOOOOW...
Pace of play was awful.
There were 2 groups on every hole. There were two rangers telling my group that there was nothing they could do. They were asking the groups to hurry but they were not listening to them.
Horrible service rude customer service and just overall not helpful at all.
Muni course
A decent municipal course surrounded by a park, but not necessarily the greatest neighborhood. The Fairways and greens were in very good shape.
Best Value in Phoenix!
The City has done a great job taking care of the municipal courses like Aguila. It’s a fun but challenging layout and the course is in great shape. We set up a group event here and the staff were excellent in taking care of us and created an awesome experience. Will definitely be back!
