South Golf Course at Granite Falls Golf Club

This course is amazing. I live near it but never played it. Just played it for the first time and this course is awesome. It is in great shape especially for mid summer. And the greens are great! I got a tee time on golf now for 10 dollars you cant beat that for a course of this caliber. I will be back.

Course played well in the rain. Greens held approach shots and remained fast for putting.

fairways is in great while the greens are full but bumpy. Relaxing place to play.

We love the sun city grand courses, aside from the couple weeks before overseeding, the courses are always in great shape. Can't beat the price either.

marshall comes around a couple times to make sure everyone keeps up pace.

there is no beverage cart so bring your own stuff. there is water and ice at the clubhouse and the turn

Nice course with fairly wide fairways. Very strong par 3's from the back Tee's. Speed of greens make you pay attention.
Will be back again.

Greens were plush, but did have some bumps so you did not get a true roll. Fairway are wide and there is not a lot of trouble you can get into.

Was greatly disappointed in the shape of the course. There was no warning that the course was in such bad shape. Many bare spots, holes, etc. I've played at this course before and it was very nice. At $20, it was too high.

The course is in terrible shape right now. We played Granite Falls South. We have played it in the past and it was great. Don't go now!

Compared to the conditions we encountered 3 weeks ago, I was shocked. The fairways were in very poor condition. I realize that there is a winter to summer transition period when the Bermuda grass has not grown in but much of the course did not seem to have any grass at all. We hit off of dirt and out of mud all day long. Greens were in fair condition. Because of the terrible condition, I gave an "Average" for value for the money even though the cost was only $10.

Greens are very good right now, and most of the fairways are in good shape. There are some definite dry patches where the grass is starting to die out, but overall not too bad for this time of year.

The layout of the course makes golfers make strategic decisions. Generous fairways on most holes, but beware on some. Greens in great condition. Very nice practice areas for chipping and putting.

I played Granite Falls South on 5/25/2013. For a course in transition to the summer grass, the course was in pretty good condition. And the greens were very receptive and well maintained.

The course itself has some nice water features, and on most holes the fairways are wide and inviting. The greens were receptive and reading the greens was made easier because you can actually read the grain on most of the greens. And at $39 on Golfnow it was an excellent value.

Course in good condition. Good value for the money.

Enough water and sand hazards to keep you on your toes. Some very challenging holes. My favorite among the Sun City Grand courses

I am an experienced golfer with a 3 handicap. My wife on the other hand has just started playing this past summer. Playing from the whites and her the orange, which is referred to as executive our drives were even in the fairway. At times she was even farther off the tee. Granite Falls has wide fairways and excellent greens. A great course for all skill levels to be competitive with each other. My wife and I highly recommend playing Granite Falls south.

This course was in very good shape especially for this time of year. The fairways were neatly trimmed and ran fast as did the greens. We had a 4some in front of us that were a bit slow, but still finished in just over 4 hrs. Could have probably been thru it in 3 1/2, but really not complaining as we were on a golf course and not at work! You will enjoy the variations of the holes on this course, and the Island green is tempting from the tee box, it tempted me and I got wet! Still enjoyed this course and will play it again....

Course is nice and wide-open with several water obstacles. An enjoyable course to play.

Played the South course and got a great deal on GolfNow. That is why I'd recommend this course, because other similar courses are way overpriced. I was confused by earlier reviews which raved about the greens here. Maybe they were referring to the North course, but the South has problems. The greens are all infected with a different color grass (maybe a weed) that makes the reads and putting very difficult. Speed is inconsistent and the roll is not true. Rumors that the members have said this problem has been there all year makes me wonder where these previous reviewers played (important to identify which course played when writing these). That being said, the course is interesting and the finishing holes intriguing. Tee to green the fairways are very good and with GolfNow a must play for the frugal golfer, but be ready for slower and inconsistent greens.

I would have given a pristine rating had the greens been 100%.
But none the less, It's an awesome course at an excellent value.
I'm confident that the greens will get better as they usually do.
