Cimarron Golf Club

About
Cimarron Golf Club combines challenging golf with excellent landscaping and scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges. Although the course has many difficult elements, with four sets of tees it can easily accommodate different skill levels and abilities. The design of the golf course features numerous strategically placed bunkers and also desert waste areas. Water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. Functional yet attractive landscaping complements the course. Cimarron Golf Club, in addition to the golf course, has many practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and short game area with a bunker.

Coming out of overseed
The course just reopened after over seeding. Greens are a bit slow but playable. The day would have been much better except for one slow couple killing the day for everyone else behind them by playing slow. They were two groups in front of me. The group directly in front of me started 45 minutes before me. I can only guess that the slow couple started over an hour before me and I caught up to the log jam on the 4th hole. It was continuous waiting on every hole and every shot after that. There was no one in front of them and they would not let anyone play through.
Great early summer conditions
I wanted to try out a Sun City Grand course and selected Cimarron. The staff was super friendly from the pro-shop to the starter to the on course marshall.
Everything was lush and green. We played as a twosome and finished in 3 hours on a Sunday morning. We did play through 2 groups on the back by invitation but didn't feel like we were ever waiting or pushing anyone.
I'll definitley play here again
Great course and amenities
Perfect conditions, great prices, golf and snack bar. Who else charges $2.25 for a beer??? The on course cold towel was very nice as well.
Course Conditions
Teed off at 7am finished at 11:15..absolutley beautiful day played with a member and his son.
a sun city gem
my wife and i were paired up another very pleasant husband wife. so much so we exchanged numbers to play with again some time in the future. course conditions, weather and pace of play were all ideal. can't wait to return
never a doubt
nice early morning start, paired up with a couple of great people. pace was perfect for our foursome, just under 4 hours. conditions were fantastic from tee to green. i don't mind getting out of a sand trap here and there, but they have A LOT of them and could use a little bit more sand is my ONLY complaint. great course
nice course
only bad experience was with ranger who usually err to side of "laissez faire" unfortunately or not. met our newly paired couple on first tee, blah blah...we teed off as group in front of us had already been off the first green. we were playing a decent pace, but twosome behind us was on our backs. decided to be polite and let them play thru at about hole #4. ranger admonishes at us for doing so and we should keep up with group in front of us-yes, but we were on a little bit less than a 2 hour 9 hole pace which is what I prefer or less. we finished the 18 in just under 4 hours. i wish the rangers in most other courses would be as aggressive as the average pace of play is usually in the 4 1/2 + range(too much!) in any event-great course, excellent conditions
Woiuld only recommend at a mjch cheaper price. It was not a good value at $130.
Cimeron
Great course. Got paired up with members who helped point out some blind hazards. Would definitely recommend it to others.
Great Course 👍
3rd time I’ve played course, previously in mid Summer when rates were more reasonable. This time I played for $90 because of twilight tee time; love course and would play more often but $130 for non Grand residents is pricey! $90 was fair. Great course but recommend playing Summer months when prices drop! Friendly staff!
Good value for the area
This course has some challenges but not too difficult. Not too long, but back (black) tees or black-blue combo is nice length for single digit handicaps. Most holes have reasonably wide fairways. Fairways and greens are excellent condition. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The price is nice.
“Golf now people”
Don’t let people book on Golf Now if you are going to treat them like second rate citizens.
Great ranger!
Third time playing. Greens were in very good condition. Overall the course is well maintained and very playable. The ranger the day I played Was excellent. We ended up being a twosome stuck behind foursomes so expected waiting. The ranger came by often and kept us apprised on the pace of play. He even let us know a group 3 ahead if us was slow and he just speeded him up. For a twosome, our waits were very minimal. We finished right at 4 hours. Good to see proactive rangers.
First and last time playing
We were on a 5 day golf trip with the boys out in PHX to watch the WM Open. All week long all anyone could talk about was Cimarron. Saturday was the day we were playing it. We went to the WM Open on friday and got into the cups a bit. By the time night arrived I was pretty well gone and started passing out in the recliner. As I was dozing off I began snoring in and out of naps and the gentleman we were staying with abruptly yelled "Spray tan you better enjoy Cimarron tomorrow because it will be the first and only time you're playing it. Nobody snores like that in my house." So I took that to heart and made sure to fully enjoy Cimarron. Was a perfect 70° day with a light breeze not a cloud in sight. Lush green tight fairways surrounded by nice homes. My buddy put one off the roof on the par 3 17th. Safe to say she came out and was not happy. Older lady, no idea it was us so we were good. Safe to say I enjoyed my only round there.
