Cimarron Golf Club

About
Cimarron Golf Club combines challenging golf with excellent landscaping and scenic views of surrounding mountain ranges. Although the course has many difficult elements, with four sets of tees it can easily accommodate different skill levels and abilities. The design of the golf course features numerous strategically placed bunkers and also desert waste areas. Water hazards come into play on a few holes as well. Functional yet attractive landscaping complements the course. Cimarron Golf Club, in addition to the golf course, has many practice facilities including a driving range, putting green, and short game area with a bunker.

Nice Course...
Played Cimarron at Sun City Grand yesterday. Course was in good condition other than clumps of cut grass on the fairways and in the rough. Staff was friendly and pace of play was pretty good. Ranger was visible on the course a number of times. Could have more holes with water available considering the heat. Overall a very nice experience.
Hidden Gem!!!
Cimarron is one of four courses in the upscale Golf and retirement community of Sun City Grand and worth the price of admission. It is always in great conditIon and scenically appealing. If you get a chance to play Cimarron, or any of the four courses in Sun City Grand, you won’t be disappointed, Cimarron is a fair course but challenging enough for the big hitters low handicappers. The practice areas are separate, a chipping are, a putting area, a grass range and a bunker area. Cimarron is resort golf in a neighborhood setting. You will definitely enjoy your round.
Very well manicured course and nice layout.
The course and facilities are some of the best. Greens are in great condition as are the fairways!
Enjoyable round
The course was in really good shape. Tee box, fairways and greens were all in good condition. The wind tried to push the ball a few times, but nothing drastic. All of the storm damage looks to have been cleared away. I had an enjoyable round and didn't have to wait for each shot like some other courses.
This Course is in Great Shape and Fun to Play
Excellent West Side course.. Fairways and greens in great shape for the middle of summer. Storm damage cleaned up and almost unnoticable. Course is challenging but very playable. Liked it alot
good value
first time playing this course, played the tips and because the fairways were not firm and fast it played it's distance. Bunkers in bad shape, greens on the slow side but putt fine. Tee boxes good and fairways were good . Course needs to put out more water jugs and ice for golfers.
storm hurts
this is a favorite of mine and was really hurt by the summer storms. trees down on almost if not every hole. while that really doesn't affect play, it does affect overall appearance. but of course understandable. that said, perhaps the staff is spending lots more time on trees vs the actual mowing etc. while fairways are in very good shape, the rough is either very , VERY long or the mowed grass is sitting there not picked up. that makes the 6800 yards play very very long. but overall a terrific layout and fun to play. that is until i caught a 4 some on 17, wow, cmon guys lets move along
Hidden gem
This course has a nice layout, maintained well, and ready to play! Storms took a toll on some trees, but still a great place to get a round in
Sun City Grand course
Played this course the day before it was scheduled to close for aerification. Course in good shape but greens were slow and mostly burned out as one could see they were being unattended due to the maintenance about to be performed. Played with a member in around 2 and half hours which was great. Course layout is interesting but would recommend waiting until fall to play it due to the maintenance being performed. Got s good deal on GolfNow.
Early morning summer golf
Played a lot of different courses this summer, most courses are struggling with there grass transition. Cimarron has nice wide and plush fairways and solid greens (a little slow) overall great course conditions. There snack bar food is very reasonably priced.
A Happy 4th of July!
Good times, great day and truly blessed by the Lord.
Let a single through me and a twosome let me through finished in 2 102 hours, Amen.
Course going through transition like the rest of the valley courses but overall a very enjoyable round.
Fairway grass
Very good course we only have one item why are the fairways cut so short ???
Great place for summer play.
Always enjoy this course and the staff is grade A! I know its summer but a cart person would be nice, not a deal breaker just wishful thinking. Would recommend this course to family and friends!
Awesome course
This is a really fun course. It has a variety of challenges. I played in the afternoon. I got a special afternoon rate so even though the tee was open we had to wait until our allotted time. No problem. The course was in great shape. I did not see anything wrong anywhere. The only thing that got me was that the greens were slower than I was used to. But, they were consistent throughout the entire course. This is not a typical flat layout like so many of the Sun city courses. Some of the greens have a lot of undulations as do some of the fairways. There are sand traps in strategic locations and a couple of holes where you have to hit over water.
The practice area was in great shape. The staff was friendly and the snack bar lady was very nice. The hot dogs were great. Remember to tip ya’ cheapskates. There is no beverage cart, so you'll have to buy your drinks before going out. There are plenty of water fountains throughout the course when you need them.
All about shot placement
This was an exceptional course; only down side I can mention was the pace of play. This little gem is in the middle of Sun City Grand; retirement community, so be prepared for a 4.5-5 hour round. The members here do not care about the guest players and play every shot like they are at Augusta on Sunday.... if you remove them from the picture; this is one of the best courses on the west Phoenix area with plush island fairways and fast greens. Higher handicaps beware, you can not recover or scramble if you miss the fairway. Very challenging course for a great value, I will be back again!
