MountainView Country Club
About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Nice but.....
It was a beautiful day at a lovely course. The pro shop attendant was friendly and helpful and then things went downhill. A twosome was put off right behind our foursome and we let them play through on the first green. Things were fine until hole #3 where we were told to speed up play by the ranger who had terrible manners. We then were encountered by the ranger again on #5 and #9 where he told us they had a full afternoon, and on #9 he told us we may have to skip a hole! At no time on the front 9 was the foursome behind us ever close. We finished our front 9 in exactly two hours. We finished 18 in just under four hours. At no time were we ever holding up anyone behind us. We consider the behavior of the ranger nothing short of harassment. He needs a lesson in public relations and course management. Worst ranger ever!
Better Courses can be Found
Compared to other courses in the area, this one is rather boring. Decent facility, although staff in clubhouse did not act like they really wanted to be there.
No water or cart service was available throughout the whole course, which would have been nice to know when we checked in (but that would have required an extra effort on the part of the staff).
I won''t be playing this course again during this visit nor future ones.
The was in great shape. The mountain views are awesome.
The one issue that i had was no cart service on the course and the club house is closed at the turn.
A fun course for all skill levels
I enjoyed the course immensely - you can make it as short or as long as you want depending on your abilities
Great views
Very playable layout with great mountain views. Course was in great shape and our foursome finished in 4:15. They could use a marshal on the course as several times we had locals ride through on their personal carts which was somewhat bothersome.
Good challenge.
Very enjoyable course for average golfer. challenging, but fair, with no unusually difficult hole positions.
Very nice course.
I played just after a rain shower so there was hardly anyone on the course. Played 18 holes in 2 hours. The course was very green and the greens rolled great. Got a GolfNow rate of $18 bucks, so it was well worth the money.
Late afternoon golf
I played this at 3 pm on a weekday. Was paired up with another couple who hadn't golfed in 6 months. Play was slow, but it was a beautiful day. It was a good value and the course was in good condition.
The course is scenic
I was impressed with the pace of play for such an active course. Played with a member who was very helpful. Excellent views. A long drive but worth it. There was no beverage cart nor a 19th hole. I will play again.
Good rate, close by, as we were staying in SaddleBrooke.
Greens were interesting. Ball rolled slow and not straight due to clumps of different grass growing.
Had a good time and pace was pretty good. Would recommend this course to other players.
In pristine condition
In about as good a condition as any course in town. Not as pretty surroundings as the preserve, but in better shape right now.
Had a great time.
Had a great time. It would have been nice to have a beverage cart.
Great Course
Great course but disappointing not to have a place to get a drink and a sandwich after our round.
Great views!
Although this was not the most challenging course we have played in the Tucson area, it was most enjoyable and has something for everyone. It is a neighborhood course; however, on most holes, the homes do not come into play and it has a feeling of openess. It was in very good condition and the greens are deceiving. I am definitely playing this course again.
Nice course
Started as a couple and paired with another couple. Enjoyed the round. Greens a little slow.
Great day at MV
We had a wonderful day. The GolfNow rate made for an excellent deal at this beautiful course. We will return soon.
On a Winter's day
The course is played in and around housing. Layout is good. Wide fairways, elevated greens, good tee boxes. Fairways are in good shape. Mostly residents playing here. No beer and chip/ pretzel golf cart driving around selling anything. Nice views.
Clean bathrooms and Good water fountains. One on front and back nine.
mountians
First time playing this course, but will not be the last. I enjoyed the views at every hole, even when it was a not so great shot. Make sure you take your own snacks and drinks as there was no one on the course selling them. Brand new cart was nice, seat was very slick though. My golf app. Would not give distances because of the mountains, and it seemed they had reversed the tee boxes. I enjoyed the day, I enjoyed the Mountain View.
good to play
great layout I alway make sure I play this every visit to tucson.
condition i always good , greens are diferant grass and srrm very slow. which I do not lke . faster greens are easier to read and putt.
nice course with holes that make you think some
nice course, mostly members play I think, prettyews even though that is not what I go for, some better directions in a few locations is needed on course, bunkers have minimal dirt but are OK, roughs are fair, fairways are nice, is taken care of well, pace was good our day, could be more water stations for the players, pro shop closes pretty early , we were tired by the end of the day more just from navigating our way around the course, greens do putt a little slow,
