MountainView Country Club
About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Disappointed
We changed our date to 2.16.15 at 12:45pm. The website showed $24.00 for our tee time and when we got there they charged us $52.00 each. THEN we started to play. The sand traps are full of stones and no more than 1/2 inch of sand-terrible. The greens haven't been cut for several days. The pace of play was extremely slow. We had enough waiting and quit after 14 holes. tried to go into the pro shop to discuss conditions however it was closed. WOW!!!!!!!!!! We are not happy
come and get it!
Only real negative I can think of is that the greens probably. Could have been mowed a bit better. BUT , that is the only neg. The rest of the course was in great shape. The greens were slow but held all shots thrown at them (I also play Pro V 's so that helps) . They putted true, just slow. This course is extremely fair and u don't need to bomb it off the tee. If ur hitting the ball fairly straight, u will score here. I had 3 -3 putts on the round and shot 72, again, greens were a tad slow. Bring it own snacks and beverage as there is no cart. I will definitely play here again and putt better!
Scenic golf course
The course itself is very scenic and the inside staff accommodating. However, once on the course it was more a game of survival. As with many courses in this area, there are no course layouts; on the scorecard, separate booklet or gps, therefore blind shots were occasionally warranted. The restroom facilities are locked and no refreshment carts anywhere. The ranger came by and stated a cart should be on the course (not), and although he had coolers on his cart he neglected to put ice or water in them. As mentioned that we were in the desert and it would be nice to have at least water. The greens were more like Velcro and your putts would stop even on downhill lies.
Nice course/ no service
The proshop staff had no clue how to check in players. It took over one-half hour to check in 2 foursomes and a twosome. We almost missed our teetime. The sign directing us to the 1st tee was labeled 10th tee. We had no time to warmup. No cart service so we couldn't rate the food or beverage quality.
Friendly and never crowded
Mountain View, as always, was in excellent condition. It was not crowded and we were not held up until about the 16 hole. The whole round took 4 hours 5 minutes which is very good.
Course is appropriately named
This is a very nice course, good layout, hole variety and while challenging, a fair course. Course was in great shape and views were great. Only one complaint, there was no beverage cart on course, no cooler on cart and the only water available was halfway thru each nine. played on a busy day so course is losing out on a lot of revenue.
Marshals need to speed play up
Marshals are non existent. They need to keep slow group moving. Took us close to 5 hrs
Mountain View
I played Mountain View Wednesday, Feb 4. Weather was beautiful, and my threesome was filled out with a very pleasant fourth. Overall, the course was in very good condition, except for the sand traps, which had so little sand that it was like hitting off concrete. several still had pools of water from recent rains. Still, Mountain View is a good experience.
Mountain View, Tuscon
Excellent conditions. Tough course to get around, but with 5 different tee boxes, the course is fair for all skill levels.
Mountain View
Overall a very nice track with beautiful scenery and wildlife. Fairways and tee boxes were in excellent condition but greens were a little slow and bumpy. No marshall on course and play was pretty slow. You wont be disappointed with the choice..hit em straight!
Great course, excellent value
The only negative is NO food service, on or off the course! Maybe some reason why the grill wasn't operational, but nothing stated. A food cart would be very welcome, but nothing evident.
Great Condition
Fairways and greens are in great shape. Rough grass is dormant but playable. Abundant deer sightings all around course. No food, limited drink in the pro shop...recommend bringing some from home.
Well groomed golf course
I was overall very happy with mountain view. The course is nice and it is clear the staff takes pride in the course.
nice course
- short on staff(office area and when ur done) short on scorecards, no tees, no gps on carts, no beverage cart (mon. aft.).
+ course was nice with challenges and well maintained. facilities were nice (Pro shop, bathrooms, etc.) did not visit 19th hole.
4 hrs. on the money 1:30 = 5:30 mon. for a threesome.
will be back.
very nice course
we had a beautiful day in Arizona playing golf here.
Nice course in saddlebrooke
I was concerned about some of the negative reviews written in August but they proved unfounded. I played at 11:37 with my son and they paired us with another golfer and we all had a great time. I found the course to be in excellent shape. As previous reviews mention there is no water or beer so we brought both and lots of ice. We had played the preserve 5 days earlier and both courses the views were excellent but we gave a slight edge to the preserve for overall playing.
wonderful views and wildlife
wonderful course and we saw 8 deer on #10. views are worth the drive from tucson. the course was well kept. We enjoyed the course and greens.
A very good value for the dollar.
Food & beverage service was nil, but the facility less than a street block away was very good.
