MountainView Country Club
About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Mountain View CC
Mountain View CC is a well maintained community golf course that offers a challenge for players of all ability. I played the black/pine tees and had a lot of short irons/wedges for the approach shots (Handicap 5, shot 75). Greens roll true, multiple birdie opportunities. I would highly recommend playing if you are in the Tucson area.
Nice golf course, poor experience
Course in fine condition. However, at the turn the pro shop was closed, also the snack area, no beverage cart on course. Closed pro shop, who do you call for a cart breakdown?
Course full, no room to run but played in 4:25.
Hit into 6 times by group behind, talked to them, no results, no one to call in the pro shop, no marshal on the course.
Easy, fairly open, no services on Mondays
A nice, open course good for knocking the rust off your northern game. Greens were a little inconsistent. They appear to have swapped front and back nines recently so your GPS might get confused. The patio looks welcoming but bar and restaurant are closed Mondays. I will come back another day.
great shape all around but...
From tee to green great shape this time of year. Putting this review in context I have golf many courses from Edmonton Ab to Mexico and Hawaii. 200 per year.
MV is fun and in great shape. New comers beware. No water stations, not cart services (it 95 out yikes) no food at pro shop or club house ( drive to community center and ask them to cook up a sandwich and hurry). No yardage cards in pro shop or on tee boxes or any fairway layouts plaques or on score cards (several Blind tee shots). Just guess kids. Bring food and drink and review the course before arrival if you wanna post a good score. Enjoy.
Our lucky day.
Our threesome was filed out with a fourth player who had played the course many times. His helpfulness in describing the layout of holes, warning of hazards, tracking and finding balls, plus his overall friendliness enhanced our round immeasurably. Plus it had to have saved us a half-hour or more. Without such help, I would say a drawback of the course is the lack of a course map showing hole layout and hazards. And if you're planning to use a GPS device,, good luck, because the front and back nine numbers have been flip-flopped but the GPs didn't know that. Without our friend to tell us #1 is #10, #2 is #11, etc the GPS would have been worthless. One real plus was the multiple tee block choices.
this course has great views
I play this course 3 times per month but......
This past time may be the last time as the pro shop employee has, as usual, been very unfriendly (to put it kindly). He always sounds negative when he notices that I had booked my round through Golf Now, at a reduced rate. If the course has a problem with this they should STOP posting T times on Golf Now..
Always in good shape
I always enjoy playing the Mountain View course. Without fail, you get paired up with some great older dudes. Good conversation and good local tips on the course. Staff was great!
Great Day
Great day on the course. My partner and I were paired with a great two-some, and together we enjoyed a beautiful day on the course. Pace of play was excellent. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Course was challenging, but fair. Equal opportunities for pars and bogeys. Well worth the price. Beautiful scenery. Too bad no bar available though. Will be back.
Decent course, needs better management
Pace was VERY slow, no ranger or manager around to help move things along. Called golf shop twice, no help there. But they were very legalistic on not allowing my friend on the course with denim shorts which were clean and knee length, so he had to buy shorts; of course they didn't have his size. When we told the shop attendant we didn't have extra clothes as we had traveled two hours to play there, his response was "why did you do that"? (We had traveled to visit family and play a course near them). No food or beverages available except a few snacks available, make sure you bring your own. If they are trying to limit play to people that live on the course, they are doing a good job of that.
Highly recommended
The course was in excellent condition. We played in breezy conditions which made a challenging course a bit more challenging. The layout is great and definitely not a boring course. The only drawback was that there were no refreshments (Cart Vendor) available on the course. I will definitely play this course again and recommend it as well.
Very nice course, nice remote layout, no food/drinks at the turn.
For the price we paid this was a great deal. Course was in great shape and layout is very fun and challenging. No food/drinks at the turn so be prepared. Definitely would play again.
great views; quality maintenance
Mountain View is in excellent condition. The fairways are well kept and the greens roll true though a bit slow. It is not a particularly long course but plays hard when the wind blows. This course offers postcard views of the nearby mountains.
very nice desert golf course
very nice desert golf course
nice views on the mountain
green and fairways very well
we come back with pleasure
get some local info before you hit tee shot.
Fairways and greens in great shape, make sure you have someone with you that has played here before, a few tee shots require a heads up where the trouble is. 17 is a tough par 3 but many of the par 5's are gettable.
great value
First time played here, Great value, great shape play time 4.0 hours. Will return soon.
Very player friendly in a nice desert setting.
My wife and I were paired with another couple and we had a great time. The staff was great and very friendly. We would definitely play it again.
