MountainView Country Club
About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Slow play ruins the experience.
Pace of play is a joke. There are no Marshall's on the course. This course should be playable in under 4 hours but never is. No beverage or food service available on the course and the restaurant is now closed indefinitely. Over priced for the poor quality golf experience occasioned by the abysmal pace of play.
Like a resort course
The course was not very difficult and fairly open and straight forward. Par threes were very good and the greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Pd 35 and it was a bargain.
a beautiful setting in very good condition
I've played this course once before. Both times it has been in very good condition. The staff is always friendly. It was pretty busy and took about 5 hours to complete the round. Not a big fan of gas powered golf carts but not that big of a deal. I'm looking forward to playing here sometime in the near future.
Nice course.
The course was in good shape and the pace of play was right at 2 hrs per 9 holes. I was incredibly irritated that I was charged $17 to let my 9 yr old son ride along with me. Not play..just ride!! I was told it was for insurance reasons on the cart. I will not go back to this course as there are plenty of nice courses in Tucson who do not do this.
Fair test of all handicaps
This course is women friendly and the distance from tee to green was fair and gave us chances to par and birdie. Lots of vistas so surrounding area is beautiful.
Mountain View
Beautiful day, wonderful course. Keep it up Mountain View, you put Tucson City golf to shame!
Scarce (drinking) Water
I haven't played this course in about 2 years. Since that time, it is apparent that attention has been given to upkeep. Greens were somewhat slow but otherwise conditions were good. Since last played, the two nines have been reversed. The practical effect of this is that it is out of the way to go to the clubhouse between 9s. Add to the fact there are only two water fountains on the course and you can easily become dehydrated.
My comments
I enjoy the course. It is moderately difficult and the layout is quite enjoyable.
Mountain View is a good course/value
A good choice of tee boxes for all abilities.
Greens had been sanded but played pretty true.
A few funky holes, but that makes for good variety. There are a few drivable par fours if you can hit the driver 290+ off the second tee box down (Purple, 6400 yards)
The round took 4.25 hours so the pace of play was certainly decent.
No marshalling that I could see.
I don't believe there was any "cart lady" the whole round but I bring my own snacks and water so that was not a problem. There are bathroom facilities mid-way on each nine, as well as the club house. (But hole 9/10 does not "return" you to the clubhouse.....)
Abundant wild life around the course to see; road runners, rabbits, and deer.
Pleasant ccourse
Beautiful course. Very relaxing and playable. The holes are well designed for the intermediate golfer but still are challenging .
Beau terrain
Certains trous sont spectaculaires, agréable à jouer.
An OK course
This was an OK course in good shape. Holes were not that interesting. Prefer other courses in the area at a similar price. For example, The Preserve, The Views, Vistoso. Not really complaining. The course and facilities were fine. Just not as compelling as some of the other courses in the area. Worth playing if you can get on at a really good price.
Nice course; average difficulty. scenic
Good condition desert course with average difficulty. Some carry over desert washes required, but not too much. In full view of Catalina mountains.
Mountainview lives up to its name
Nice course with some challenging holes, and great mountain views!
Mountainview Course
Mountainview is a fun course that offers a moderatly difficult challange for the average golfer and with the various sets of tees can be made to accomodate almost any golfer.
Challenging in all ways
Wonderful course with outstanding view; friendly service, excellent prices.
nice gem
a beautiful course and well maintained. a little far from the city, but well worth it.
Great couse and beautiful surrounding scenery!!
Course was in excellent condition - they had a frost delay which set everything back an hour but by the time we teed off it had caught up so it was only 40 minutes late - we were supposed to tee off at 12:30 but it was 1:10 when we teed off so not bad!!
Bring Your Camera
Beatiful views of mountains, herds of deer and many coyotes. The greens are in excellent shape and their is a good variety of holes and types of shots needed. Lots of desert and canyons to eat errant shots.
