MountainView Country Club
About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Interesting greens
Putting was interesting. The greens Bermuda grasses had not filled in leaving area of sparseness. May be better in a few weeks. Bunkers are not being maintained.
Good value, good course, not a lot of shade.
Pristine tee areas, fairways are great, greens need a little work unless they were just aerated.
Good value.
Course overall is in fair condition. The greens are in better shape than the rest of the course. Hard to maintain conditions at this altitude year around. Staff very friendly, nice driving range and practice facilities. Good grill although it was closed on Sunday afternoon when we played.
Lots of wildlife viewing including, deer, coyotes, and road-runners during our round. Beautiful mountain views (Mountainview, go figure).
I was quite pleased with the course!
Very green and the greens were great! Saw 18 deer while we played! Nice and quiet, great views! I will come back to this course in the future!
Excellent intermediate course and value
THis is a great high intermediate golf course...enough of a challange but does occasionally "reward " the average golfer. It is also in prettty good shape !
one of my favorites now
great course to play/ does not beat you up/ but a good challenge/ had a great time and will be back
Great shape
Course was in great shape. Played the 2nd tee time of the day as a foursome in under 4 hours.
THis course was great with the views to equal the greatness
Great play and very nice condition, even after a downpour!
Really Nice
Even saw 5 large deer. Greens and fairways best played this year
Mountain View a delightful course with great mountain views
Greens had been punched recently so putts were a trial. Course in great condition. Sprinklers were on at some of the greens and fairways not a problem though. Golfed with three guys I didn't know... had an excellent time. Which is my usual experience for any of the Saddlebrooke courses and why booking a single slot is never a problem. Plus the price was definitely right. Another plus there is plenty of iced water on the course and at the turn.
the course has great features and challenging holes
The course was in good shape considering that they just aerated it recently. The greens rolled consistently.
Course was just punched including the greens
Course was a little dry, good roll on the ball. Greens very slow due to recent punching.
Good course in good condition
The course has a good design and it was in good shape. Greens were excellent and the fairways were well maintained. Staff was friendly. I enjoyed the course as it was a bit easier than some of the courses in the area, such as The Preserve and Dove Mountain. Not a lot of changes in elevation in this course. I saw the resident deer on two holes, they are very docile and will let you approach within meters, beautiful animals. I will be back.
This course has great features and was in really good condition.
Really enjoyed the experience of playing the course. Especially enjoyed the deer that accompanied us on the 7th and 9th holes. It was a great afternoon of golf.
The course was in primo shape, every hole from tee to green.
This course is challenging yet it suits low handicappers and mid-level players with its tee box placements. The pace of play is just right; we moved along at a steady pace but still had time to enjoy the views and native wildlife, including deer.
Fun course, green grass, great restaurant.
Pro shop could be friendlier, but restaurant made up for it. Excellent cheeseburgers, great scenery, lots of deer around the course.
This was a Great Deal
The course was in very good shape with consistent greens and well kept fairways. The only negative was the sandtraps were all very hard and need to be broken up and raked out more often.
Good value
Group in front could have played faster. Ranger spoke to them but it made no difference.
Great value...hidden gem in the area.
Not one of the most difficult courses in the area, but certainly challenging. It has everything a golfer is looking for in a desert layout...forced carries, water, undulating greens, elevation changes and is well maintained. You can score well, but if you're not careful and keep it in play, the course will bite you.
Well maintained and great scenery.
The course was in excellent shape, greens were fast and true. Beautiful scenery. The onlyh reason were took 41/4 holurs to play is we took pictures of the views and watched the deer. No one in front or in back all day. Just a fantastic day at the course!
