About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

As good as it gets, almost
This course was in great shape. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens had no signs of dead grass and were in great condition.
The course plays short and isn't as hard as other desert courses, but that is ok with me. The pace of play was fast. We finished 18 in 3 hours 15 minutes from a 7:30 tee time start.
Bring your own beverage and snacks and prepare for a good day on the course. The "regulars" at this course know what they have on this scenic land and you should come play here too. I'd play here over most of the other courses in Tucson because of how well maintained they keep the property.
Great course in beautiful setting w mountain views
Super setting, good condition, friendly staff, and sunny skies to enjoy. Don't miss this great value.
Not in great comdition. Need to have players repair divots and pitch marks.
Divots everywhere on the greens. A single playing behind us was hitting four balls off the tee ( not that that is an issue), but he kept hitting into us. One or twice I can understand, but four strait tee shots!
great value and beautiful scenery!
Started the Friday round with a slightly confused older guy taking my cart, but after some negotiations with the pro shop received a new cart. The course was full, but these members (my guess) know how to keep play moving. Great scenery, saw some deer, had a birdie, had a quad and had a darn good time!
the course was in very nice condition
My partner and I played 18 holes; he shot a 90, his best game since moving to AZ and I shot a 111 my best a beginning golfer.
We enjoyed the lay of the differing fairways and greens.
The scenery is beautiful.
This was an average difficulty factor course with beautiful mountain views. It is built for members in that it has inadequate parking and poor signage for first time players. Also, there is no bag drop! Parking for private golf carts should not be in the general public lot. No room. I would go back though.
A good mix of holes, from easy to challenging. Fun to play for all levels of skill
Well managed and staff pretty attentive to their responsibilities
Nice course
Very nicely designed course which is kept in good condition although the sand traps are a bit firm (need more frequent raking). Greens role true and are reasonably fast.
It was a beautiful day in the foothills.
We enjoyed our round. It was a little slow due to an earlier tournament, but the course was in good shape and the greens were well kept. The bunkers varied from one to another, some sandy, some 1-2 inches of sand before hardback. It's a crapshoot. Key here - stay out of the bunker. There is NO drinking water on the course and NO beverage cart. The restaurant closes at 1 PM so if you want lunch or anything bring it yourself. We started at 11:30 and told them we had never play there before. It would have been nice to know that before hand. We had snacks and water in the car.
Overall - very nice course and good views.
We will play here again.
Excellent value and great staff.
I would recommend this course, and the Preserve, for anyone wishing to book through GolfNow.com. It is an excellent value for the money. It is easy to use and very valuable to the traveler like me.
Challenging without being unfair. Nestled in the mountains.
played in 4 hors and that was with waiting on a few holes. course is interesting and the surrounding mountains are stunning.
This course is a good warm up tract for a vacationer, if you don't mind snobs behind the pro shop counter.
The course has adequate facilities. Course condition was average, greens not as smooth as I prefer, and slow.
MT view golf course
We played in just ove 3 hrs!! Course was in great shape.
Fun course and an excellent value
This was the easier of the two public courses at Saddlebrook Ranch. Fun to play with wider fairways and no blind tee shots or approaches. Course is in excellent shape with lush fairways and manicured greens that were challenging but true. Staff was very friendly and customer oriented. Great value for the money, easily within the reach of all players.
the greens are very good
the play is slow but the problem of slow play is at most courses and that's another conversation.the people are friendly, and the the course is very fair and a joy to play.
Nice course reasonably priced
Overall course is in good shape, greens are in very good shape. Course is challenging but yet fair. Would recommend it to other golfers
We enjoy this course
We enjoy this course because it doesn not have a lot of forced carry situations. It is a typical golf course through a developement so you see mostly houses. It has a variety of tees for al level of golfer.
Never have seen a smile from any one in the pro shop or a "welcome'. Strangly t he whole clubhouse closes about 2 or 3 so after that you are on your own.
Pleasant Course
Sloping Greens makes for difficult putting in winds above 12-15
mph Otherwise the course is very nice and kept in good shape.
Great course for the average to good golfer.
MountainView has enough variation in the tee box placement to make it a long challenge for the big hitter or a manageable round for the average golfer. Course is currently in excellent condition and one normally can see a n assortment of wildlife while playing a round.
Like the layout nice views
Good layout narrow fairways very good greens fast down hill putts and can have some tough pin placements. Really like the views very much enjoyed the golf there. In all very much worth the price to play will be back for some more.
