MountainView Country Club
About
MountainView Golf Club at Saddlebrooke sits at an elevation of 3,200 feet, offering both dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views. The course sits at the base of the Catalina Mountain range near Tucson, nestled into the mesquite-covered foothills. Gary Panks, the golf course's designer, saw the potential of the landscape and utilized the many natural hazards. He also incorporated subtle mounding and strategically placed bunkers that blend seamlessly into the natural terrain. Panks created a fair challenge with this layout but the wide, player-friendly landing areas makes the golf course approachable for beginners. The second hole is one of the most scenic holes on the course but it is also one of the layout's more difficult holes. Golfers will find a mesquite-filled wash crossing the fairway before facing an uphill shot to a green guarded by trees and bunkers.

Always a pleasure
We played in the rain and it was still fun. Conveniently located practice area.
Excellent Playing Conditions
Mountian View was in excellent condition from tee to green. I played from the purple tees this time which gave me a different variety of iron shots into the greens compared to the back tees which I've played before. Greens were also in excellent condition which allowed my putts to roll and hold the line - I had 28 putts for the round! Aprons around the green were also great to play from when I missed my approach shot which made chipping much easier. Great course!
Great course, especially for the price I got on GolfNow
This course was great, fairways were green and well cut, greens were challenging. The rough was brown and dying but I've come to expect that from all courses here in Tucson. They do enforce a dress code (I wasn't smart and showed up in jeans, had to buy some shorts). The only slightly negative thing I'd say is we only saw the drink cart once during the 18 holes, and he didn't even tell us he was the drink cart...I thought he was a course marshal checking on rate of play until he drove away and I saw his coolers...
Fun with some great views of Catalina Mts.
Always meet Nice (older) couples and just enjoy the day.
beautiful January day in Arizona
This is an excellent course set against the Catalina's. The practice facilities are excellent. Even with a frost delay, we played at a good pace. The greens and fairways are in good to excellent condition. Some of the greens were a bit bumpy...deer and pig tracks?? I like the variety their tee boxes provide...easier to quite difficult. We had a nice day.
player friendly with nice design for retirement community
good practice areas (with deer close up to putting area)
design of course fits all player skill levels except for "big hitters"
smooth moderate speed greens
GOLF NOW rate was excellent
Nice course
I enjoyed the course. It was fun. Nice condition. Greens were fairly easy. Fairways were generous.
Challenging
The course was in good shape, but for us we
found that it was not well marked to get from
some of the holes, multiple paths to choose
from, for our first visit.
Great Course!
Excellent condition. Definitely not "wide open" as some other reviewers indicate. Nice challenge. Staff really pushes for 4 hour rounds which is refreshing.
The course has a good layout with a lot of wildlife.
The staff in the pro shop are not very friendly, and I get the feeling that I am inconvenience to them.
Nice layout; very playable; excellent condition
Mountain view is a desert course with wide fairways and is player friendly. We played the 6000+ tees in windy conditions and found it very challenging. The greens were in excellent shape, running fairly fast, and the pins were in "tournament locations" due to an event held earlier in the day.
I would recommend the course and will return.
The course has both challenging and easier holes. Very nice
Very friendly and helpful staff. I liked the views from some of the holes and I liked that there were some easier holes as well as those more challenging. I'm a "senior" so having a good time is important, and for me, I played well.
As for this survey, I had a difficult time moving the cursors to the places I wanted them on the lines of the 5 questions above.
Course was in real good shape. It was better than I expected.
Course was in better shape than I expected. Played it earlier this year and it was average then. But was impressed this time.
Will play it again.
Interesting course. Love to play it.
The course is in good shape overall. The greens are a bit slow but smooth. My only complaint is that the bunkers were not well-maintained, not much sand in some and unraked animal tracks in several.
Course was in excellent condition
Fairways were somewhat narrow with dessert posing problems except for the straight hitters. Greens were perfect if only a little slow. Practice facilities were second to none.
The course is iin very good condition and has challenging holes.
The course is chanlenging and is in very good condition. I would recommend playing there. I intend to golf there again.
Good course for the average golfer.
As it was Thanksgiving day the course was pretty empty so pace of play was fine and the course was in good condition.
Awesome mountain views.
Great course. The only complaint would be about the sand in the traps surrounding the greens. They could use some new sand and/or at least grooming.
Course is in geat shape.
Friendly staff and a great day of golf. It was a long drive but we enjoyed the day.
nice course, weather great. good views of mountains etc. had great time
lovely views, lots of wildlife, deer, birds, rabbits....and sure there must be more likely in the early morning
