Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club
About
Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club offers a championship course where you can enjoy a private and secluded setting free of homes anywhere near the fairways, tees, or greens. Donald Ross originally designed the golf course in 1924. It has a classic layout that has withstood the test of time to become one of the area's most popular public courses. Seasoned golfers will find that the course is not the most challenging but it is good for a casual round that will still keep you on your toes. The course is tight, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. There are not many hazards but there are some and they are very strategically placed. The layout is player friendly enough to accommodate a range of skill levels and the affordable rates make Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club doubly appealing.

Not a bad course to warm up for future rounds.
For $40.00 I got what I expected. Layout is fun. Tees are good, fairways are average. Greens not very good.
Never come back again
I use to be a seasonal member here two years ago.
I came back as I understood some improvements (investments) done.
The fairways are awful (some of them have no grass at all). Greens damaged, topped, uneven, in a word forget about decent putting. The only decent things were the bunkers (enough sand, unfortunately not racked by previous players).
On top, the ball washers missing water in some.
I paid "discounted" price (104 usd for 2) which is huge compared to other courses.
So: if you have a "friend" send him to play this course. Otherwise wipe it from the list.
not far from home
very near my home, good weather, good green
people were nice and sympathic
Hollywood Ditch CC
I have played this course many times through the years for its affordable price and decent conditions. However its seems new management has raised rates and lowered course conditions so the value play is gone. First tee was out of control with 5 groups waiting to tee off and the starter could only shrug his shoulders. If you want to be a golf destination for this Hollywood resident the price should coincide with the product and your a far way off. Good luck...
Great value!
A fair golf course with plenty of challenges for any golfer.
close to home
it is OK but it doesn't drain properly so we have to stay on the cart path even though it did not rain for many days and I can't walk easily.
Again I am receiving emails for New York and western NY that I don't need and advised you many times
Nice course. Somewhat challenging.
Nicely designed course. Course was wet on day we played which limited 6 or 7 holes to cart oath only. Greens were well maintained.
Better than average overall experience.
Donald Ross course on a budget
Donald Ross course, but needs some TLC. Fairways were patchy, greens decent. To be fair, course had experienced significant rain during the week. Staff super friendly. Nice option when other area courses are over-priced and moving slow during the high season.
Friendly staff and course plays well for average golfer.
Greens were in good shape. The fairways are generous and the greens were rolling well. The sand traps are well maintained. As crowded as the course was pace of play was good.
An other good deal
Simple but good golf course
Starter is not funny but you see him not so much
Very good price for this deal => thank s you Golnow
Average golf course, decently maintained.
This golf course does not have great scenario or a special layout but for the price it is a very good deal. Not overly crowded either considering that it's a relative inexpensive golf course.
great value
Course was in decent condition except for the greens which had bare patches and dead spots. Wide open course which wasn't crowded. Large challenging greens.
This course is interesting to play.
Fairways are in good shape and are well maintained.
Greens are not fast but fun to play.
few water hazards but not a big challenge.
Pro shop staff are friendly and courteous.
Not too challenging
For a bit of fun, this course made for a relaxing day out. It was not busy, and it would be very difficult to misplace your ball. The pin placements added some interest on undulating greens especially if they were within 2 yards of the edge of the green, and most of the water is not in play but the bunkers are; so that creates some interest.
Worth a shot at bargain rate
This course dates back to about 1928, and the design reflects that. What makes it tougher than you might expect are several par-4s that require 250-yard carries over cross hazards if you want an approach with a mid-iron. Front nine does not drain well, so keep that in mind if it has rained recently. If greens were a little faster, could qualify as a gem.
Nice Course
This course is a nice place to play... for the most part the course is well kept, The times I'm there I always see workers working on maintenance of the course. The girl with drinks come around and there is a stop for drink right before the 10th hole. This is nice because it can get really hot sometimes. I haven't had one bad experience yet, and I don't expect to. When it rains, the grass gets extremely soft. I'm fairly new to the game, so I appreciate a place where I can play and practice my game in peace without too much going on (I try to go early mornings before mad rush).
After Rain...Maybe not the best day
This course has a great layout. It requires you to make some smart choices on the tee box, you can use everything from a Driver to an iron when teeing off. The par 5's are very reachable, but the par 4's play man-sized. We played after days of rain. The front nine was horrendous regarding drainage. A couple of tee boxed were moved as a result and the fairways on 6 of the nine holes were very soaked. The back nine got better. Overall, a good course when dry, a bit frustrating when wet.
Mostly great pace of play. Because of all the rain, some areas need attention from cart drivers going through muddy areas.
This is a great course with a few challenging holes. Starting with par 5, 5, and 3 is fun. Definitely a great choice. Will probably go back multiple times since i got my first hole in one on number 8 last week.
Good course; user friendly and challenging
Nice course, user friendly conveniences; from car to cart fetch area, to pro shop to restrooms. Nice folks; make you feel welcome and wanna' come back again.
Well planned course layout.
Only downside was small styro water cups w/ no lids. Many places offer free drinking water w/ larger styro cups w/ lids & straws.
