Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club
About
Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club offers a championship course where you can enjoy a private and secluded setting free of homes anywhere near the fairways, tees, or greens. Donald Ross originally designed the golf course in 1924. It has a classic layout that has withstood the test of time to become one of the area's most popular public courses. Seasoned golfers will find that the course is not the most challenging but it is good for a casual round that will still keep you on your toes. The course is tight, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. There are not many hazards but there are some and they are very strategically placed. The layout is player friendly enough to accommodate a range of skill levels and the affordable rates make Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club doubly appealing.

Ok course
Greens were in so so condition most of the T boxes were good , the best of it all was the fareways
Nice Course!
In 5+ times to the Lauderdale area, this is one of the nicest courses I've found with very good value. Played in the afternoon with my wife and another couple and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of tough par 4's from the whites. Lots of sand and water comes into play from several holes. A couple of greens were a little spotty, but overall they were in good shape. Lots of wildlife to see. Nice clubhouse and nice bar with good food. Staff was very pleasant. Did not stay at the resort.
nice to play in the afternoon
go by there all the time and was not disappointed
for the price
this course is challanging and with water at some holes
This course is actually in fair condition need some improvement but location is excellent for us leaving in Hallandale, the greens are fair and should be also be improved.
Honoring the donald Ross design of 90 years
I couldn't resist choosing Hollywood Beach as one of my picks for the week in the Fort Lauderdale area.
Actually, it was my first day down from South Jersey, and I had a really nice time. Paired up with two very nice local gentlemen, very helpful for landing short of trouble. Staff was freindly and the Ranger worked hard to keep the flow going when things slowed down. Conditions were average, this course was not plush. Yet, knowing the history of the layout and the fact that it is 90 years old, really made the round nostalgic and special. Even with an up pin, 13 into the wind was classic. If you have a love of golf history, put Hollywood Beach on your list.
overall a good course
The course is nice and staff friendly. Although I think they try to cram too many players on the course at a time as several people had the same tee time and we were backed up at every hole. I did not see a Marshall to get rings moving along. Course was in decent shape other than sand all over the greens. Still a fun course.
Course was in AWFUL shape...
I would not play or recommend anyone to play this course. While the aesthetics were pleasing, the course, especially the front 9 was in terrible condition.
The greens were extremely bad as were most of the fairways.....
Improvement needed!
Having played Hollywood Beach before I knew it had some short par 5's and very long par 4's, making it an interesting course. However, I was stunned at the poor condition of almost every green. there were swatches of bare ground all over the greens. Some of the bunkers were more dirt than sand. The best part of the day was meeting new Canadian friend. The pace we slow as it was Saturday PM and the course was busy. Until the greens & bunkers are improved I have no intention of playing there again, nor will I recommend it.
Old
Old course , small greens in average conditions. Overcrowded, almost 5 hours, long waiting in every tee...zzzzzz
Great course, needs some love & care
Played with a group this weekend. Great Donald Ross course that has a lot of promise, but needs some TLC.
Greens are in poor shape (thin, spotty patches, sanded while others not at all), with the exception of those close to the club house...funny how that works. Tee boxes also need some work. Course has a great layout, is fun to play, bunkers, water right in those natural landing areas.
front 9 greens were unputable...many dead spots, surely someone knows how to grow turf in florida!
I played here 2 years ago at about the same time and it was in good condition. I remember the par 4s were long. Liked the addition of new forward tees...people working on course....it needs it!
Nice surprise
I've been going to this course for years, normally I know this will be at least 5 hour day.. Yesterday it was under 4.. Course was in good shape, greens for burnt out as they looked, were very true.. Personnel as always were very polite..
I scored well, Thank you
Course was as I remembered it
I haven't played this course in quite some time. It hasn't changed very much. It has a few force carries over water from the tee which are challenging and a few elevated greens. The tee boxes and greens need a little work, but the course as a whole is in decent shape.
Good course for a saturday afternoon
It is clear that is and old Golf Course, probably with a little more maintenance can keep it nicer than it is today. Greens are in bad conditon.
Greens in poor shape
I've played here two years ago and it was in good shape, this time it's in very poor condition. Greens, fairways, and t-boxes were all in very rough shape. could not recommend the course right now.
course in bad conddition
basic course in bad condition about rainly weather and flushing water in the fairways.
Too expansive for the condition of the course
Condition of the course is medium too expansive unless you pay a discounted price.
mr
good value
might be an option if you played other courses in the area
Not worth the Money
50% of the greens were in horrible shape. The same with the tee boxes. The locker room was old and stale. Not a value in my opinion.
