East at Orangebrook Country Club
About
There are two 18-hole golf courses available at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, the East and the West. Built in the 1930s, the East Course is the club's original layout. While its design may be more traditional, it is just as much of a challenge as the newer West Course. The East has fewer water hazards but there are large bunkers strategically placed throughout. There are some tricky holes included in the design but there are also many player-friendly features as well including wide-open fairways and generous landing areas. Players can get their practice in on the large, lighted driving range that has both distance markers and a practice bunker. Orangebrook C.C. offers not one but two player-friendly but challenging rounds, making it popular amongst locals for being one of the area's best values.

Pro shop staff were very friendly
The staff was friendly accommodating. The course needs work, the fairways are typical of a mini course, but the greens are not in good condition.
Dog track
Never played a course in worse shape. Every single green was half dead. Rhe half that was alive played like a 6 on the stimp meter. The half that was dead was either sand or baked mud, where the corners of the mud chips were turned up. Your ball bounced through the chip like a pinball in a pinball machine. There was no point in putting. I quit after 9 holes. Pathetic, brutal excuse of a course. Not worth $10.
overbooked
This place has the worst starter that I have ever seen. While I was putting (a single) on one a group of 5 golfers went past me and started to tee off #2. I asked them what they were doing and they said the starter told them to skip 8,9 and 1. The starter was sending out singles, doubles and even 5 somes. Never have I ever had to wait on 5 players especially being a single and they would not let me past them until hole 6. Then I was waiting behind three different 2 somes. Worst place ever.
A neighborhood gem
The staff is great and the course is such a nice layout and reminds me alot of Melreese with how open the fairways are and how strategic the hazards are placed around the course.
Good for practice
Low end golf course . Good for practice. Course in rough shape. We were supposed to play east course but was sent to west. Staff said because of heavy rains. However we did see some people playing it after we started. That really irritated us.
Worn Out
Used to be a good course. Heard they are closing soon to build a new hotel. It is beat up bad. Greens are mostly dirt and sand. Should be a $40.00 play at best. Hope they can revive it.
Worst green ever!!
Absolutely the worst green i have ever played on, Some green are just cracked dirt, no grass, just awful. I don't know how people that maintain the grounds for a living, can be this bad. The west is considerably better, but not great.
Blue collar golf
Good round to start a trip to South Florida. Hadn’t picked up the clubs in a while, and it was a good way to dust off all the cobwebs in my game.
City Dump
Visiting from NY and booked last minute. First & last time playing this course.
City of Hollywood should be ashamed to present this property as a golf course.
Should have realized the shape of the course when I entered the clubhouse. Literally thought it was ready for demolition.
The course itself was awful - tee boxes with very little grass, fairways full of weeds and bare spots and greens with more dirt than grass. I have never moved my ball so often to find a clean lie as I did here.
It’s a shame that the neglect is everywhere. Even the cost of $59 for cart & greens fee felt like a rip off. Play another course.
Nice course, Greens not so much
Course was in decent shape but the greens were really bad. Dead spots and dried dirt on them. Made putting a challenge.
Guys at the starter and bag drop are great. They help you out and get you out on time. However, I went to the counter to sign in and pay 40 minutes before my tee time. I was told to come back in 10 minutes, no apparent reason. No line at the desk, no big rush of people to sign in. Not the first time this has happened. Annoying but not enough to stop me from going back
