East at Orangebrook Country Club
About
There are two 18-hole golf courses available at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, the East and the West. Built in the 1930s, the East Course is the club's original layout. While its design may be more traditional, it is just as much of a challenge as the newer West Course. The East has fewer water hazards but there are large bunkers strategically placed throughout. There are some tricky holes included in the design but there are also many player-friendly features as well including wide-open fairways and generous landing areas. Players can get their practice in on the large, lighted driving range that has both distance markers and a practice bunker. Orangebrook C.C. offers not one but two player-friendly but challenging rounds, making it popular amongst locals for being one of the area's best values.

Worst course EVER
Boring layout… everything straight ahead. Lumpy, weed laden, greens,; so bad I stopped putting on the second hole and used my pitching wedge to put. Fairways terrible; also loaded with weeds. Spent most of the day shooting from the rough because the weedy fairways were so narrow and abbreviated. The rough was WAY too high and full of clippings… spent a good deal of time searching in the too-tall rough for balls.
All in all, a terrible golf experience.
Visiting golfer
I was visiting from out of town and relied on their advertising. Clubhouse looked like it was abandoned, no driving range even though website said they did, staff was unfriendly, and the front nine of east course was a disaster. We were allowed to play the front nine of the west course and it was only slightly better. Par 4s converted to par 3s with greens int he fairway, bad signage, cartpaths, greens and fairways. This place should be condemned!
Skip this one.
This probably used to be a very fun course. Design is good. They are budget friendly and it’s reflected in state. driving range was close and replaced by police station. reportedly course is closing down in the winter for a full remodel. Felt like mostly walk-ins playing as the course was packed and pace of play pretty slow on Sunday evening which is to be expected. However lots of open tee times on the app.
Rough was pretty rough and greens were pretty challenging to roll a ball straight.
I played 11 holes and called it day.

Look… the proshop is well stocked. The course is just terrible. The majority of the greens are absolute trash. Probably running a 3-5 because they are so overgrown and cancer ridden. There’s a handful of “ok” greens, but that’s the nicest I can say. Tee boxes are sandboxes, losing golf balls in broad daylight…. It’s a shame too. Grounds crew all over and people efforting to do their job, but this course is a gigantic miss. I am from Orlando and played with my co-worker from Seattle. We both agreed this was the worse we’ve seen. All of the staff are VERY cordial, but it stops there.
Not so great.
I played a round yesterday and while I appreciate the user-friendly layout of the course, the condition of the front nine greens made for a disappointing experience. They were nearly unplayable—bumpy, patchy, and very inconsistent, which made putting a real challenge.
The back nine was in slightly better shape, and overall, the course design is enjoyable and accessible for players of all levels. Staff were welcoming and the pace of play was good, but until the greens on the front side are properly addressed, the course isn’t playing to its full potential.
great price decent course
except for a few greens being repaired most of the old course is playable traps need some tlc but over all the course stands a test to time
Course is conveniently located and price is right for the condition of the course, which is under construction due to adding parking lot and police station
Bad Greens
I've played at Orangebrook many times in the past and unfortunately I have to say the courses are in need of work. I played the East course and the greens are in the worst shape I've ever seen. Badly in need of repair. The ruff needs to be addressed also. Very easy to loose a ball with the grass so long. Both courses used to be in great shape so I don't know what happened.
3 stars but great for what you pay
If you're a golfer who doesn't mind playing a lower quality course to save some money (like myself) this course is a gem! For a course with two 18s that run around $30 per round it doesn't get better than this. Greens are a bit rough, but besides that the course is very fair for the price.
Need maintenance
Played at east. I have played at this course several times. This time I found the course in the worst condition ever. Fairways with no grass. Greens absolutely unacceptable. They were punched but still condition was terrible. Not playable. Greens changed location and GPS unable to work. We decided not to finish the 18 holes. I hope they put a better focus’s on maintenance.
