East at Orangebrook Country Club
About
There are two 18-hole golf courses available at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, the East and the West. Built in the 1930s, the East Course is the club's original layout. While its design may be more traditional, it is just as much of a challenge as the newer West Course. The East has fewer water hazards but there are large bunkers strategically placed throughout. There are some tricky holes included in the design but there are also many player-friendly features as well including wide-open fairways and generous landing areas. Players can get their practice in on the large, lighted driving range that has both distance markers and a practice bunker. Orangebrook C.C. offers not one but two player-friendly but challenging rounds, making it popular amongst locals for being one of the area's best values.

Fix the Carts
Played a twilight round as a single. Fortunately I was paired up with another single who could push my cart around. Mine had no juice and his had no brakes. Pace of play was a little slow. I don't get how you can play slow on a course that the only place to lose a ball is in the water. Anyway. Conditions were decent a little thin in spots. The greens were slow but plush. A great course to sneak in a quick round.
Potential
Nice course layout super slow greens hard bunkers you can put out of the worst restaurant the worst management nobody cleans anything bathrooms smell and look like crap it’s sad with the right management could be a nice facility
Great Time
I had a great time playing today. The pace of play was a little slow but it gave me the opportunity to talk to 3 people I had never met before. We had a great time talking golf and world affairs. I made a few new friends. GREAT TIME!
The course is very open
The course is very open the only problem I found was the greens were not in very good shape. Terrible the pot
Much improved in 2022
Thankfully, they have repaired the greens from last season. We played the East Course on a Saturday. The layout for both courses is fair with some interesting challenges. The Greens, while much improved, are REALLY slow. Fairways and rough are reasonable. Tee boxes were average but certainly useable. Overall, for the price we were satisfied with our round.
Closed front 9 on east, did nothing to improve pace
Rain drenched the course so they had to shut down front 9 of East course. This happens, but they did nothing to try and improve situation, I.e. move anyone over to the West course. Instead we were packed into 9 holes of East course, and waiting in line to get around at turn.
Decent course, fair price
It is a decent course in good condition. Greens in better shape than West Course, which I played earlier in the week. Front desk and bartender nice, rest of staff OK.
Nice golf course
Nice layout… course gets a lot of play.
Starter was super nice and friendly.
Would recommend and I Will definitely play again..
What can we Do when slow players are ahead
This morning, a very, very slow foursome played ahead if my group. They never made an offer to let us pass.
It was the 3th ou 4th group if the morning.
Please give instructions to groups in the morning that they give the course rythm, so play ready golf and let pass faster players.
Slow
Somehow we got behind a tournament of people planning some kind of best ball. Group of six then group of four.
The guys behind us joined us to speed things up a bit but really slow front and back. Will go back sometime but
will be awhile. Over hours to platy a round is to frustrating.
