East at Orangebrook Country Club
About
There are two 18-hole golf courses available at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, the East and the West. Built in the 1930s, the East Course is the club's original layout. While its design may be more traditional, it is just as much of a challenge as the newer West Course. The East has fewer water hazards but there are large bunkers strategically placed throughout. There are some tricky holes included in the design but there are also many player-friendly features as well including wide-open fairways and generous landing areas. Players can get their practice in on the large, lighted driving range that has both distance markers and a practice bunker. Orangebrook C.C. offers not one but two player-friendly but challenging rounds, making it popular amongst locals for being one of the area's best values.

Setting expectations
When playing in Fl one should ALWAYS set expectations after reading prior reviews from fellow golfers and taking it in stride...this is a 27 hole course with typical FL layout(mostly flat with multiple holes with water hazards)...the course, by its conditions is definetly over played and some form of rotation to aerate the tee boxes and greens is needed...say taking all the tee box markers and moving them way forward, thus allowing the back of the box to be aeratied...say one per day x 27 days means the first one is readly to have its front done...same for the greens...one hole under maintenance for most folks is probably acceptable...this course was fun to play...starter exceptional and with expectations of seeing courses with wear and tear due to not much rest, if any...it would be a place to play...just dont use the scores from your GHIN...enjoy the social side of the game
Don
Fairways average condition. Greens relatively smooth, but slow. Good value for cost, but not a choice for those looking for a well conditioned course. Staff not very friendly as a group.
Could not play
They closed one of 2 courses and had 15 carts lined up so cold not play
Could be a very very good course
The course has the potentially be a very good course.. management needs to step up. No SAND ON THE CARTS TO REPLACE. DIVOTS. Some tees had no green tee markers. Help the golfers help the course.
Carpet like greens
MAJOR,,, MAJOR Kunous to green keeper and his crew.
All three of us had to look hard to find weeds on greens of East course. Most fairways were nice and on there way back. Tee boxes were rough, BUT,,? WHO cares when we are teeing the ball up.,
East Course
Had a great time on the east course.
a little wet in areas but not terrible, Love the greens at Orangebrook, always perfect speed as I've played the west course 4 times and now this one.
Very wet conditions
The course was very wet. Generally course conditions were average. Pace of play was ok.
Maybe next time without the wet conditions the course may be more playable
Coarse. Closed
We booked to play the east coarse but it was closed due to heavy rain. No problem
they let us play west at the same time. All worked out fine. Will go back and play the
East coarse another day.
Friendly staff
Very good course condition, pace of play and price for twilight play. Staff were very friendly and excellent that you are allowed to walk when some south Florida courses mandate use of a cart.
