Legends Golf & Country Club
About
Legends Golf & Country Club offers an 18-hole championship course that has become one of the most popular golf courses in central Florida. The course features dramatic elevation changes, which allow golfers to take in breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and citrus groves. Legends Golf & Country Club is known for its par-3 holes, but one of the most memorable holes is the par-4 fifth hole. The hole is a downhill dogleg left with an elevated tee that provides a spectacular view. Legends Golf & Country Club has a classic, moderately difficult layout that is difficult if approached too casually but also quite playable, even from the championship tees.

Has been better
I’ll start with the positives. The welcome at Legends is always friendly and helpful. The greens, despite being overseeded very recently, are a joy to putt on, and nice and quick. Bunkers are beautifully kept and play an important part in the overall design of the course. The fairways, despite being at the end of a Summer season, were a joy to play on.
Now the negatives. Tees are in need of rest and TLC. Green surrounds are scruffy.
But the worst part of our round was the cart navigation system that alerts you to keep to the 90 degree rule, and also stops your cart on some holes if you stray off the cart path. (We were not told there were cart path only areas) A good idea, you’d think, until this happens on holes where there is no cart path. We spent at least 20 minutes trying to move a vehicle off the edge of the fairway and ended up reversing up the entire hole.
We also missed out a hole at the end because a slow group of 5 Juniors were playing, apparently under instruction from a man in a buggy, a 5-ball.
Much improved……..Great job.
My last review, about two months+ ago, I lit up Legends for not keeping up with maintenance and cutting corners everywhere. As did several reviewers at that time. Well I played yesterday and most of what I complained about then has taken a pretty drastic turn. For the better. Just about every aspect to maintenance details has improved quite a bit. Someone was listening to their customer base and it shows. Greens were very good as usual. Fairways and traps getting better and somewhat more consistent. Tee boxes are improved and pretty nice. Def getting better. And the rough is well maintained and getting a bit thicker now. Nothing wrong with that. Hit in the fairway.
So overall things are much better at Legends. A very good deal for the money. And still improving, which is great to see. I’ll be back. Very soon.
a favorite
Nothing like Elevation golf in central Florida! Course in very good shape, despite much rain recently. Rough is Penal. Play the correct box for the forced carries.
Allocation of tee times
The course was great. However, when I booked there was only 1 tee time available yet when I arrived I was on my own. I was ultimately joined by 2 members who made me welcome.
Course needs work
First time playing the course and I won't return anytime soon. I know we've had a ton of rain lately, but any ball off the mostly narrow fairways could not be found. I felt like I wasted too much time looking for balls that were a couple inches off the fairway.. The greens were very slow and inconsistent. I did enjoy the layout and the elevation changes
Nice Course.
Legends is my go-to course since I live very close to it. It provides a nice challenge to all golf skill levels. They are doing some course refurbishments so not is best shape. They have a nice range albeit you are hitting from artificial surface and putting practice area. The staff is super friendly and amenities are OK. Cost is on par with similar courses in the area, but I would not say a huge value for money.
Nice day fun course
Nice course fun elevation changes. Well worth playing. Drove over an hour to meet some buddies in middle of the state and was not disappointed. A fair price to me for a premium tee time would be 55-60$
Fun Track. Average condition. A bit lacking in service
We've played this track for many years. Glad is has reopened!
Overall this outing was average. We got behind a shotgun start event that ended up making the round very slow.
Overall conditions were fair to average. The greens looked great, but were running slow for a FL summer round.
I feel the cart team could have been a bit more on point. The older gentleman did make the effort to come out and retrieve our clubs when we parked, but we declined simply as being so close to the cart area already. I still tip as he loaded them up on the cart and got us ready.
The checkin was smooth and easy.
The range was mattes only which I'm not a fan of due to my swing angle. I just does not respond the same as on course play, but many tracks are moving to this on the range, so I understand.
Pace of play was rough. A shotgun group in front of us really dragged the round out. Over 5hrs.
The Tees/Fairways were in average condition.
The beverage cart was on point and came around often. We appreciated it and did stock up on some drinks (both beers and waters). Great service and friendly.
I guess what got me was that when we got done, nobody made any effort to come out and clean up the clubs and take them to the drop. Had tip ready to go... But nobody to give it too. Saw a couple of younger guys sitting in the cart barn chatting, but not getting up to come assist. Maybe playing at Disney and some of the other nicer tracks @ central Florida have made me expect something more. I also know that MANY players don't want to deal with tipping after the round, so maybe it is the norm here.
Had a great time in the clubhouse bar afterwards enjoying a couple of beers and laughs.
