Legends Golf & Country Club

The cycle of this course is very well known by golfers in the area. It used to be great, then, like many other courses it struggled. Somehow in between, it had appeared that The Legends had lost its way, as it continued to struggle, while some others made a comeback.

After not playing here for several months, I played today, with 2 really nice guys. They thought the course wasn't as good as it could be, but I was very happy with most of the course from 1-18. And we enjoyed it!

Today was very pleasant. The course was green, the greens were quick, even midday. the Fairways can still improve, but it's playing and starting to look much as it did in its heyday.

We can be pretty critical in central Florida as there are many courses to choose from and often I think we can get to "if it's broke, it won't be fixed." In my opinion, that is no longer the case at the The Legends.

The prices are among the best in the area, for a solid layout and now a course which will make you feel as if you are at a pretty special place and because of that, it's worth a play. Please don't get me wrong, there are areas which still need some work. but if you haven't played in the past few months, I believe you will very pleasantly surprised.

I haven't recommended The Legends for quite some time, but feel great about recommending it after today's round.

The tea boxes and greens were in great shape, spotty conditions on the course overall very challenging a good play

Nice layout and in great condition. Pace of play was about 4-1/2 hours so very acceptable. Staff was very friendly and inviting.

Love this course, so different than typical Florida golf course. The gent in the pro shop, Chris and Mark & Mike ranger and bag guy were very helpful with my friend who was late, they brought him out to 4th hole to meet us…I can’t thank them enough!

Excellent layout, plays longer than yardage, rough areas splotchy probably due to recent drought, greens perfect

Course layout is remarkably challenging. The greens are pristine. Very very fast. Bring your agame when it comes to chipping and putting.

Clermont for golfers who enjoy ups and down courses.

I have been enjoying the course from time to time for the last 20 years. For most of those years they have always kept up with it very well. Staff is always friendly and makes you feel enlightened. Then you have an amazing golf course to play with elevation changes unlike a lot in Florida. I can’t think of two holes that looks similar on this golf course. Every hole is different and especially the par 3’s, everyone is different and it’s such a good beautiful collection of par 3 holes.

I would play it more often if it wasn’t a 2 Hour drive.

Course is in great condition as long as u stay within fairways and greens otherwise not much grass to play off which is basically your own fault. Beautiful day with good company. More amenities would be welcomed but starter did bring us water on the course. No Bev cart!!!

Good value using Golfnow: nice layout: nice greens.

Cons: Little grass in fairways: slow play; no snack/beverages at the turn.

Terrific layout, well maintained, healthy greens. Some fairways lacking a healthy amount of grass due to dormancy and drought, but really enjoyed this course. Good variety of tee boxes to fit your skill level. Greens have a lot of grain which does affect the putt, so don’t expect to make many.

Round was slow because of lack of rangers ! We played after a member of the course and she said play was not usually so slow! The restaurant was closed and no cart person! After 16, holes a person handed out free water. Nice course but severely understaffed!!

The fairways and greens were weedy, but playable. Maybe because of the recent cold weather and lack of rain, the course wasn’t in good shape. Many tee boxes were painted green and lacked much grass. The Legends has a great layout, but it’s not worth the price right now. Hole number 11 (par 5) was closed, and the restaurant is closed. I would play it again, but for a much lower price given the conditions.

Greens are fantastic course is in good shape!

Loved playing this course. Challenge g but fun!!! Beautiful! We will be back!!!

12:20 tee time. Pace of play was pretty good. Course conditions were okay at best, not great in some spots, and really bad in others. Fairway seeding was starting to grow and grown out, but ok to play from. No rough, just dirt in most spots. Greens were absolutely the best feature, but tons of ball marks from the lazy ones. #10 was shut down, however we found out by the grounds crew working on it, which was very disappointing for being charged $70 to play there.

May be a bit before we come back as the summer value is much better.

Bar was closed by the time we got done at 415, also disappointed.

Greens are nice and pretty quick,fairways ok,sand traps very good. had a problem with the handicap cart but one of the workers called in and got it fixed.
