Carved from a forest of pines and winding through wetlands and lagoons, St. Johns Golf & Country Club offers a scenic 18-hole round located between St. Augustine and Jacksonville. The course features tree-lined fairways and large, fast greens. There is also the occasional two-tiered green to look out for. Water hazards come into play throughout and there are several well-placed bunkers. Depending on how the wind is blowing, the course can range from being gentle to very demanding. Six sets of tees make the course accessible to players of all skill levels. In addition to the course, St. Johns Golf & Country Club also offers extensive practice facilities including a 10,000 sq. foot putting green, chipping green, and a double-sided driving range.

Fast greens!

I have played many fast greens but these greens are the third fastest I have ever played. In fact, I am a scratch golfer and it took me about six greens to get a little comfortable with putting. These greens are not for medium to high handicappers. First, extremely fast and down hill putts will leave you on average 12 ft past the hole. Second, the breaks are very hard to figure out. Most of the hole placements today were not breaking as you would expect. Last, if you are not an excellent putter do not expect to two putt many holes. Three and four putts are more like it, it is a very fun course but practice soft hand putting before you go.

My golf buddies from out of town came down and we played 4 rounds in 3 days. 2 at the LPGA, the Slammers and Squire and STJGCC. All of the courses were great, but this was our favorite, so much so, Collin suggested I buy a membership because it was worth the price. If I lived closer and had the time during the week, I would. Course was in great shape, fairways were nice, didn't plug out drives, greens were fast, but fair, layout was enjoyable. Pace was good, we finished in about 4:10 minutes. Value for the money, good with Golfnow deal.

Day 3 last course we played

Annual guys trip and this was an. addition to our golf extended weekend play. Golfnow deal made it possible to play and loved the course. We played the 2 lpga courses and squires and slammers and this course. Liked this course as much as any of the other 3 course. This one was the most firm. Conditions were tremendous, greens fast but fair, fairways allowed for roll. Foggy in the morning, beautiful layout and will be a club I bring to play as a representative true Fla course.
