They have really let the rough grow to the point that it results in lost balls that should not be lost

We found numerous balls that had been abandoned. You had to be right I. Top of a ball to find it and once found advancing it any distance was extremely difficult

We were first off but I suspect the extra time looking for balls will result in some long rounds later in the day

I have never seen so many lost balls in a round. If you miss the green or fairway by a few feet, it is very difficult to find. In many cases you have to be right over top of the ball to see it. This also affects the rate of play. I understand penalizing people for missing the fairway but we spent way too much time looking for some balls. Not enjoyable.

Also, the greens were not the best. Slowest bent greens I have ever putted on.

Terrible greens and no Marshall. Greens were in really bad shape which was unusual. Also there was no Marshall to keep the three groups of five in front of me split up and on a decent pace. I’ve played by myself and it took an hour and a half to finish four holes. After four I tried to jump ahead to eight but as soon as I got on the Teebox another group of five pulled up. I moved on to the back nine with Very little pressure and finished nine in an hour. Was very disappointed because usually this is a nice place to play. Might be a while before I return

Chestatee is one of my favorite tracks but really needs TLC. The rough needs to be cut! Not really enjoyable when you are 1 foot off the green and you can't find the ball unless you are standing right over it. I get it if this was the US Open and there are spotters but spent far to much time looking for golf balls that should not have been lost. Greens were battered due to all the rain. It a great course, just not great now.

My buddies and I play here almost weekly. Love the course. The rough is a bit thick, but adds a nice challenge to the game. Would highly recommend.

It takes about an hour to the course, but it’s worth the long drive. The course is maintained very well.

I play this course about 2-4 times a year, and love it. Today I broke 80 for the 2nd time in my life. Starter was very generous and let me and my wife play by ourselves (there were quite a few 2somes today). Course is in fantastic condition, especially considering all the rain from the past two days. Overall we had a great time out today. The only thing that was bothering us was the 4some that was taking their time taking 9-16 practice swings before hitting (there was absolutely no one in front of them). It got to the point where we just skipped a hole because we had two other groups waiting to tee off before we even had a chance to hit while waiting for the group in front of us. I will say they definitely need Marshalls on the course to speed up pace of play, but the etiquette shown by this particular group was very frustrating.

The course was both fun and challenging. Very good conditions and was surprised to find Bent greens, as those have become hard and expensive to manage in the South.

I enjoy playing Chestatee. It's a beautiful course with a number of challenging holes. The great equalizer is that it is a par 71 with 5 par 3's. The toughest holes for me are #4, #8, #10, , and #18. You really have to work to make par there. I might add that you need to be careful on #9. Keep your drive well to the left to avoid trouble. Right now the greens are very soft, so make a point of repairing your ball mark. Still, they putted well. One final note: if you're headed south on 400 after leaving the golf course, be super heads up when turning left. Those cars are flying.

In my opinion the morning staff person at the golf shop did not like golf now (pre-paid) reservations. Tried to charge me on the twosome and charged me on the 3rd player. Afternoon staff refunded me back for the 3rd person.

Love the course.but need to have a ranger for pace of play!! I quit after 12 hours! Had bee on the course for 3hours and 45 minutes!! Ridiculous

This is a very challenging course with a lot of course management decisions to be made during the round. the course was in good condition with the exception of a lot of unrepaired ball marks on greens and unraked traps. More of an issue with the clientele than with the grounds crew.
