About
Mt. Woodson Golf Club is one of San Diego County's most popular courses for a number of reasons, one being the spectacular setting. Nestled in the Ramona Valley, the course is sprawls across a dramatic landscape of towering oak trees, enormous granite boulders, and sparkling blue lakes. Nearly every hole on the golf course provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and canyons. It is also known for being one of the most challenging and well maintained layouts in the area. The tight fairways and small greens demand accuracy. There are also plenty of interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course offers true target-style golf that will test the shot-making abilities of even the most experienced players. One of the most unique features of the course is the 450-foot wooden bridge that winds through the treetops.

Meh
Leaves alot to be desired for the overall experience. Course layout is quirky but fun. Greens were in good shape and rolling fast but true. The rest of the course had some issues from tee boxes to bunkers with no sand to patches of crab grass. Staff was generally unhelpful and disorganized. It says on their website that you can rent an individual cart if you are a single if you pay extra. The lady checking me out and the starter acted like it required an act of congress. No I do not want to share a cart with a stranger for 4.5 hours

Fairways in winter dormancy...#10 shortened to a par 3 due to relining pond, but still not good approach to green on #10. Some rough spots on/around greens
Interesting Track
First off, the web site says that the new owners are trying to generate a 'Cheers' vibe. I'd say they've achieved that. Super nice folks. The guy in the snack bar was extremely friendly and makes a great breakfast burrito. The maintenance guy and the starter were also welcoming and friendly.
The track is different, routed as it is in the mountains. It's definitely a 'we've got to play this again now that I know where I'm going' kind of course. There are a few blind / narrow tee shots. It's winter, so the fairways were a bit soggy. But the greens were in excellent shape.
Definitely a course I'd recommend. Don't know when I'll be back in the Ramona area, but I'll be looking to play Mt. Woodson again.
PS - One heads up: No range, just a hitting net. But check out how they collect the golf balls.

Really interesting layout with some fantastic scenery. Course was in good shape with quick greens that rolled true. Fairly short from the whites, but still a challenge.
Ramona golf at Mt. Woodson
Bunkers need some attention. Kind of slow round...90 degree rule and par 4 #10 playing as short par 3 due to work on lake/hazard.

Mt Woodson is always a fun golf outing. It is challenging and beautiful
Amazing layout
I am 5 handicap, the layout of the course is fantastic but the fairway really need work. Is not the heavy rain which cause this. Greens are very good.
This layout deserve better fairways.
Fun course with beautiful views
The course was in pretty good condition with some work being done on several holes. The greens were in great shape.
You really can't beat this course as far as it being fun and a little challenging with FANTASTIC views.

Nice layout course
Course was good layout but needs work little bit more on fairways and greens. Due to front lazy groups so we kind of getting slow but had a fun to play. Maybe come back in later after settlement the course.
