Mt. Woodson Golf Club

Greens are pristine, rest of the course is in great shape. If you are having a good day from the tee box you can go low. Food at the bar was good. Just wish it was a closer to my house!

If you are headed to Mt Woodson be prepared to hit a lot of irons off the tee. You can still hit the big stick or 3 metal wood but most holes get tighter as you get closer to the hole. For long hitters 7-4 iron off the tee will leave you a comfortable iron or wedge into the green on most holes. They have no yardage books so if it’s your first time playing I suggest using an app that has hole overviews. The greens were beautiful and quick. Cut and rolled with precision and care. However with the greens looking as healthy and good as they were, the fairways weren’t and that was a tad disappointing. Also the rough around the greens is kind of patchy and has some crabgrass making chip shots tough. Lastly some bunkers need help desperately. There are a few that were hard as concrete. Overall playing this course was a great time and I will definitely be back and will be recommending to other golfers.

The staff and the course management is great. The layout and the views are fantastic. Fairly penal for errant shots though especially off the tee.

One of my favorite courses in San Diego County. A bit of a trek to get there but the course and the views are spectacular

Greens are back to great..

I haven't played this course in years but it was in great condition, even in the crappy weather. The greens were excellent and the course was very well maintained. We'll be back.

Play the round today with a couple friends and we had a great time! The staff was friendly the course was in great shape and the car girl went out of her way to accommodate a special drink. Very easy to get in and out of the course and the carts were in good shape and the staff was very friendly

Great course, always fun to play. Especially in perfect weather like we had on 04/30/23.

Only issue I had was the condition of the tee boxes. They're in pretty bad shape, torn up quite a bit. Recommend changing the tee boxes around from time to time to give them a rest.

This was a fantastic place to play golf. First time. Very unique and tough layout. Most holes less than a driver due to tight tee shot. Fairways and greens in fabulous shape. Pace of play was for hours on a Friday afternoon.

Although the yardage is short, don’t be fooled as shots are not easy. Small greens add to the challenge.
