About
Mt. Woodson Golf Club is one of San Diego County's most popular courses for a number of reasons, one being the spectacular setting. Nestled in the Ramona Valley, the course is sprawls across a dramatic landscape of towering oak trees, enormous granite boulders, and sparkling blue lakes. Nearly every hole on the golf course provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and canyons. It is also known for being one of the most challenging and well maintained layouts in the area. The tight fairways and small greens demand accuracy. There are also plenty of interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course offers true target-style golf that will test the shot-making abilities of even the most experienced players. One of the most unique features of the course is the 450-foot wooden bridge that winds through the treetops.

Mt. Woodson
Pretty standard round. Greens & tee boxes can use done work. 18 green under repair.
Always a challenge
Great target golf. Greens spotty, tee boxes full of sand.
Excessive Heat
Recent high temperatures got the best of some of the greens. There were a few major repairs the day I played. I would imagine the playing surface to be closer to 5 Stars once completed
great course, very poor greens
Mt. Woodson is one of my favorite courses. We really disappointed with the condition of the greens. The starter told us there is a problem that is being addressed. It really had a negative effect on our day. We would suggest giving the course some time to correct this. It's a great layout but the greens alone would make us pass in the near future. Thank you
Always give full disclosure
Would have loved to played this course under better conditions. Tee boxes a messy and some greens even worse. Wish the course or reservation system disclosed temp 18th green. On the other hand, beautiful place to play and course is a shot maker or breaker layout

Great course! Beautiful scenery
The course was great and layout was very cool. Even riding the carts was an experience in its own. That bridge is really something else. I have already recommended this course to multiple friends, some of which have already been and loved it. I will definitely play next time I am in the San Diego area. Only bummer about the course is whoever fertilized the greens at the wrong time did a real number on most of them which is unfortunate. But other then that the rest of the course was beautiful and green as can be. Can’t wait to go back!
Risk Reward/ Placement Track
My favorite track in the region. Historic Old School style. Reward for accuracy, will pay dearly for errant shots. Opportunity to score low if you stay in the fairways. Highly recommend !
Mt Woodson
Always a treat to play Woodson. Very nice people, especially the starter. Course is in great condition. French fries were average.
Wait 2 months
I love Woodson, but serious greens issues currently. Temp on 18. Super should be replaced. Unacceptable
Dead Greens
Two months ago this course was in immaculate condition. They put something on the greens to treat fungus and killed the greens. They’re sanded with grass in blotches. Everywhere they sprayed is dead. The 18th was a temporary green and they told me about that when I made the tee time but they left out the other 17.

We had a great time playing! Greens were a little rough but majority of course in great shape! Staff was very friendly and accommodating.
