Mt. Woodson Golf Club

Beautiful, challenging course. Nothing straight, flat, wide, or easy about it, but the setting is amazing and entertaining. Playing up and down hills, over canyon and brush, you’ll need to know your distances, and be able to hit them consistently. Hitting past the green is disastrous. The greens were soaked and slow from the morning rain so can’t comment too much other than they were in nice shape. There were rakes for the sand - other than being wet, the bunkers played well.

This being my first time here I was fortunate to be paired up with a regular player of this course. It has a huge learning curve as elevation changes can be deceptive and mess with your iron choice.

I say bring patience as we waited 2-4 minutes per hole at the tee for the groups in front of us to clear. Looking forward to playing here again.

Nice looking holes, but greens were a little chewed up because of rain. Front 9 was incredible, but the 2 or 3 blind tee shot holes on back 9 slowed us way down and were a bit dangerous.

Love the course. Can’t go wrong playing here. Bunkers need a little more work.

Even through the Summer the place is in great condition and the color of the grass is bright green. Great work guys.

Fairways were in excellent shape. Greens held shots very well and were still fast. Please repair your ball marks and at least two others on these very receptive greens.

It’s ala short course but it has teeth! Fairly tight course and misses can be costly. Won’t be pulling out driver on all par 4’s but definitely a thinking man’s course!

One of the nicest courses I have ever been to. Amazing layout

This was a fun course to play and definitely would play again. Just a couple important things to note. Definitely not a walkable course (and that may not even be offered) but we used a cart. Considerable distances between green and tee boxes. This is a target golf course for sure and very hilly. In many cases use less club off the tee than you think because the run out is big in some cases and it’s not that long to begin with.

Beautiful setting, tough course for short distance, definitely recommend

The course is great and everything went well with the exception of a group that was very slow and no marshal to go to. We ended up passing them at 9 as they stopped to order food. It should not be the players job to keep groups moving, that is the marshals job.

The course was in very good condition. Only a few greens that had unrepaired ball marks. Otherwise one of the better golf courses in San Diego.

One of the challenging courses to play in SD county. Always a great time.
