Mt. Woodson Golf Club
About
Mt. Woodson Golf Club is one of San Diego County's most popular courses for a number of reasons, one being the spectacular setting. Nestled in the Ramona Valley, the course is sprawls across a dramatic landscape of towering oak trees, enormous granite boulders, and sparkling blue lakes. Nearly every hole on the golf course provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and canyons. It is also known for being one of the most challenging and well maintained layouts in the area. The tight fairways and small greens demand accuracy. There are also plenty of interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course offers true target-style golf that will test the shot-making abilities of even the most experienced players. One of the most unique features of the course is the 450-foot wooden bridge that winds through the treetops.

Bring extra balls and try to keep your driver in the bag
A really nice course that demands pretty accurate shot making put the ball in the right places and you can score all the greens were in great shape
Tough short course
I like Mt Woodson it is tough and make you think. We played with couple who had never played there and the Gentlemen was pretty good. He soon found out that being able to hit it far won’t really help you on this course. You have got to play it.
Amazing!
Mt. Woodson offers golfers of both advanced and proficient levels a great experience. This course is not for beginners because you may lose balls on every shot, but if you can consistently keep it straight and shape your shots, you will have a lot of fun attacking these shorter par fours and fives.
Don't let the short yardage fool you
Great day at Mt Woodson. One thing I will say, this is not a beginner friendly course. Now with that out of the way.....my only complaint is that bunkers could.use some fresh sand. Found bunkers a few times today and always it was packed, wet, and firm sand making bunker shots near impossible to explode the ball out. Also so.e real blind shots. Either study the notes on the website or have some local knowledge.
My own suggestion to.the course is to equip all carts with GPS so we can see where other carts are. With soany blind shots, it's easy to hit into the group as you can't see them.
“Geronimo”
The course was a welcomed breath of fresh air. Short, sometimes tight, other times very forgiving. We loved the scenic beauty, the well manicured tee boxes and fairways, and while a few of the greens had what looked like some minor disease on the edges of them, they were firm, well taken care of and rolled true.
We had a great day fo shizzle!
Chris
Great course
We thoroughly enjoyed playing Mount Woodson. The course was in great condition including Fairway lies and the greens. The sand trips could use some work. The play was slow and took us 4 1/2 hours to finish.
I really liked the layout and the strategic, target golf shots.
Look forward to a return trip to play Mt. Woodson!
Awesome
First time going there for me and my dad who hasn't been there in at least 20 years. The course and surrounding were great. Definitely going back
Great Coarse
This place is amazing. Grass was in great condition. Bunkers where cement. Most interesting layout amongst the boulders and hill. Favorite spot in SD area.
Slow Greens
Normally the greens are firm and quick, but overwatered and slow this time. I get the heat, but it was disappointing.
“Wow”
This is not along course by any means. Precise shots are premium. The greens were in great condition . We played early morning so greens were a bit slow but as it warmed they got faster. The views were assume
Fun Course
It’s a great course to work on your course management. I do recommend fitting this in.
Woodson - Yeah!
Always fun and challenging. Even a short hitter can score if keep it out of the sh-t. Greens not as fast as normal but good. Very friendly staff.
