Waterlefe Golf & River Club
About
Inspired by the backdrop of the Manatee River, Ted McAnlis has created the ultimate golf experience with the perfect combination of beauty and challenge. Waterlefe Golf & River Club is built along a particularly beautiful section of the Manatee River, complete with wide expanses of pristine marshes and pleasant coves. Don't be surprised if on the 15th tee you spot a family of manatees poking noses up for a breath of air. The golf course was designed with a great deal of time, effort and expense going toward protecting and resorting the natural environment that gives the course it unique character. The gently sloped greens with the newest Tifteagle Bermuda offer the ultimate in putting. From a lazy start on the par-5 first hole to the big finish on the 18th hole island green, golfers love Waterlefe Golf & River Club!

Decent Course Overall
First time playing. Challenging course. Greens recently aerated but fairly puttable. Course conditions great. I lke the bathroom stations after every few holes for ice and water. Clubhouse\proshop doesn't really exist. Practice area off mats into water, fine. Decent pace, waited a few minutes on each tee box. No wow factor or anything with staff, just normal flow of golf process. $60-$80 for a round here is good value i think. Over $100 starts pushing it, maybe early AM tee times in peak seasons. Overall good course!
Favourite Florida Golf Course
Almost perfect except for the three ball ahead of us who clearly had no idea about the meaning of golfing etiquette. Painfully slow, and at no time invited us to play through in spite of the numerous opportunities to do so. The Ranger, Tim Schmidt, is an exceptionally friendly guy, but he might perhaps have done more.
The course itself is near perfect and we always look forward to playing on our annual visit to Florida.
Slow play is the bane of every golfer’s life. These three guys were locals and quite frankly, a disgrace to the course and club.
Slow greens, clubhouse under construction
First time playing this course. Loved the layout. Challenging tee shots over water/marsh. Greens very, very slow! The golfers I played with said the clubhouse has been under construction for 2 years. Saw the beverage cart 1 time in 4 hours (at the turn).
First time will return.
Excellent course staff very nice all around great experience! Will definitely play there again!
Very nice golf course!
Very happy with the golf conditions and layout. It was a windy day and it added some extra difficulty to judge the distances. Also is good to know the golf course as few doglegs and few tee boxes set up are hard to find an aim point. Good condition all around and for sure I would recommend it and I would play it again.
Consistent 4.3
Waterlefe is certainly better than most in the area. With that said, a little more maintenance could increase its rating. I would suggest cleaning up in and around bridges. Specifically first hole.
Great Course & Value
The course is one of the best around Bradenton / Lake wood Ranch area. The staff was great, friendly and helpful for a first time player. Will play again soon.
Waterlefe
Great golf course and in good condition, in spite the lack of rain. Mind you it’s a tough course, so bring your A game!
Picturesque and a Challenge
One of my favorite courses in the area, both for the challenge and the sights. Work on the clubhouse was the only negative, but was not an issue for me. Also, was worried about the greens being aerated about a week ago, but greens were actually in good shape and did not really affect the role of the ball too much. Would definitely play again when return to the area for another golf trip.
Wry Playable
Course is in great condition even though we’re in a drought. Greens still coming back from aeration but putted very nicely.
It was my first time playing this course and expected it to be very difficult given the slope rating and obvious water hazards but found it to be very playable.
By far best in the area!
Tremendous shpe considering our lack of rain! Hole were wonderfly laid out. Even tough a lot of water pelenty of room onm the fairways! Magic
