Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club - Red Course

The greens were seeded but not maintained. Almost beat to use a diver to putt in order to get it to the hole from 10 feet. Also, seed distribution was aligned and that changed the ball movement. A slight cutting of the grass in the early morning may have made for better greens.

Overall the course was in good condition. But they'd overseeded the greens and they were a bit shaggy. They rolled pretty good, you just had to take a full backswing to get the ball to go 20 feet. Give them a few more weeks and they'll cut the greens.

I heard there's a new superintendent and that it had improved so I wanted to check it out again. While not yet perfect, it is MUCH improved over where it has been, even a few months ago. Actual fairways and rough, greens in nice shape with only a few small bare spots, rolling well and holding approaches. Some tee boxes a little rough on par 3s, but that's common. Overall, best I've seen it in recent years. Keep up the good work. Fun track that deserves more love.

Really great layout. Enjoyed the course, but they were over seeding the greens. Would like to play with better greens.

First time playing here and had a great day. Joined the group ahead of me regulars to MPGC & Jacksonville Fire Fighters, great guys to play with Rich & Nathan knew the course well and gave some great advice on playing holes. I will definitely be coming back for some great golf. Highly recommend playing this course.

No starter in the morning which cause all sorts of confusion and lead to a terrible day. 10 people at the tee box at 0745 figuring out who has what tee time and when we will go out. Extremely slow start, 1 hour to play first 3 holes. We were then berated by the ranger the rest of the day to speed up play because a tournament was starting at 1300. Greens were bad, fairway was not cut, resulting in horrendously high rough. Lost 3 balls watching them land in the rough to never be seen again!

Good time, MP was in nice shape. Greens a bit slow.

Overall - Mature course in a residential development. Great layout without tricks. I enjoyed playing this course and would play it again.

Staff - very helpful, especially the starter who moved me up to start earlier.

Driving range and putting greens - mats on driving range, greens representative of the course conditions.

Greens - most in good condition, not terribly fast, some dead spots that did not affect play.

Fairways - good turf in good condition, rough was thick but fair.

Cost - about 50 bucks with cart. A good value.

Availability - booked a 9:45 tee time on Sat morning at midnight on Friday.

Great spring time course! Summer time it dries out a bit. Hidden gem on this side of the river. Great value and always available.

The course was very nice and challenging, but really makes this course for me is one gentlemen Mark he’s very friendly, keeps everything flowing nicely on the course however, one time I brought my grandson, and Mark was very nice to him, and was excited to see a young man on the course wanting to learn golf to me that made the course one of my favorites.
