Nice greens bit on the slow side. Fairways are patchy lots of dirt. Cart girl very pleasant and amenities are good.
Fantastic greens & good layout
If you are in the Clay county area, this is a must play course. Plays long though and some of the holes are difficult but from a value for money stand point this is excellent. Greens were immaculate!
First time visiting
While Magnolia Point was reasonably priced the course wasn’t anything special to speak of from a golf perspective. Greens were in good condition but we were restricted to 90 degree rul through first 8 holes and cart path only for remainder of course which made it frustrating to a first time visitor as you needed to grab numerous clubs when you couldn’t view your ball from the cart path. For the near 40 minute drive to this course I would only visit again when I need a change as I have nicer courses closer such as South Hampton or St Johns Golf Club off CR 207.
Excellent course
This was our first time playing this course and we will definitely be back! Greens were in excellent shape and the course had an interesting layout. There had been a lot of rain the day previously so the back 9 was a bit wet and cart path or marked path only, which was not unexpected.
Mag Point is looking good
Greens look really nice. Course overall played great. Layout is of course fun. Starter was rude to us. We had 3 players but somehow they stuck a twosome with us. Not our fault. He was a jerk about it while we were on the range. Not necessary at all. But everyone else was great as always.
Huge turnaround
It’s clear the owners are investing money back into the course. Greens were in the best shape I’ve ever seen them…not bumpy and rolled true. In previous rounds last year the greens were burnt and had dead spots, not anymore!
Highly recommend going to check it out
The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
The greens are in very good shape and the price and fairways were pretty fair, the pace of play was horrendous and the sand bunkers were filled with something that resembled loam as there was no sand.
Great challenging course
Course was in phenomenal shape and staff was super friendly. Pace of play was a little slow but nothing crazy. Truly a hidden gem that I wish I’d known about sooner.
We will be back
first time here, we pick a spot each year to play before the players championship. Next year we will try to go back here. Green were excellent.
Need a Marshall
This is a tough review for me because I understand some places need revenue and have to get it when they can. We had a 3:45 tee time on Monday but the course had a full course scramble that went off at noon and we didn't get off until 4:30 so we only got 11 holes in. Nice layout, tees and fairways alittle thin, really nice greens (extremely slow) but perfect condition. I should have asked for a 9 hole rain check but instead we went in the restaurant and enjoyed a great dinner ! The food was really good and the staff was great ! Drinks were alittle lite on tequila but all in all we had a very nice time. Slow play is a huge problem in golf these days ........!!!!!!!! Speed up people !!!!!!
A Great Course at a Great Value
Magnolia point has become my go to course. It’s easy to book a tee time, the greens are excellent, and the value is outstanding! After my round I love to enjoy a meal at The Pub in the clubhouse, it’s the best food in town.
