Golfer Reviews
Super dry conditions
I like the course layout and the greens were OK but the fairways are in very poor condition.
There were very few spots where you landed on any decent grass. I hope they can bringing the fairways back as it could be a dry good course.
Love this course and it went downhill last summer. The greens are fine but fairways need more work. Whatever they did on #14 they need to do on the other fairways.
Sand city
They took a nice track of sand and sprinkled some grass on it. Tees, fairways and greens sandy, staff was rude at best and amenities were missing in action. If you can score 18 here for less then 20, Id give it a go. ANYTHING other then that and I would skip. They do include range balls with every tee time and thats nice.
Fairways need work
The tee boxes were in good shape and the greens were in great shape. But the fairways were for the most part were very sparse and few times were just plain dirt/sand.
Great course and beautiful nature
This course was amazing. The nature was beautiful and the staff was super kind! Will definitely be returning. The course condition was great, with hanging elevation and great kept greens!
whatt happened ?
I played this course years ago when it was called Southern Woods. Hale Irwin designed it and its a good championship layout....But the place is unplayable if you are like me and play the ball as it lies. Horrible conditions. Horrible dirt lies in the fairway. If you are a fluffer, maybe its OK. The guys I played with fluffed every lie.
Absolute dump
The title really says it all. What a dump? Lady in pro shop at check in rather rude, no starter, no cart girl, and not hardly any grass anywhere on course. Will NEVER return.
Gone way downhill
I played thus about 2 hrs ago and it has gone way downhill. Why no grass? No fairways, no tee box. Greens were OK. I'm giving it a two just to try to bring down these 5 star people who must be members or owners. If they think this is a 4 or 5 then they're not golfers. Extremely disappointed. Should be a $20 round of golf.
We were very pleased with this course. It is a well maintained course with a nice flow. Very nice course for the money. This might be our new favorite course.
Amazing Course - Worth My Time!
I must start by saying Citrus National has really become a favorite place to play. I am happy with all aspects of the golf experience. First, the course is in excellent shape and is getting better every day. Scott is really doing a phenomenal job with this course. Not only has he and his team transformed the course, they also have some really solid staff members. One in particular is Nick in the Pro Shop. Although somewhat younger than the average players, he is a rock star when it comes to connecting with those coming to play. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and makes you feel good about playing the course. He represents Scott very well. Citrus National Team, keep up the amazing work and please feel proud about what you have done to make the course a great place to play! THANK YOU!! George
New owners haven't done a thing yet
It was worth the $20 I paid THAT day thru golf now, but not any other time. Carts are nice, grass in fairways are spotty at best, greens are ok, tee boxes are the same as every other course, the range & Chipping & putting greens are very good. It seems like every course around the Homosassa area & 10-15 miles outside that perimeter within the last year has gone to the dogs. Hernando Oaks is the best bet in my book.
