You get what you pay for
Price was fair. The course need some water. The greens are close to being good. They were very dry. All in all I got my $$$ worth.
A Nice Track in Below Average Condition
For the price with golfnow of 23.99 it was a great deal. Excellent practice facility. The course has very little grass and it makes some shots very difficult to play. The greens have little grass and were inconsistent speeds. Overall it is a good layout and would be a great course if there was actually grass instead of mostly bare earth and sand. For the value it was worth playing and would play again.
So Good
I played the 2:20 pay and save time, and ran into one single group the entire day. They let me play through, and I played the most enjoyable round of golf I’ve had in a long time in a matter of 2 and a half hours. The course wasn’t in the best shape 5 months ago, it is now immaculate. Greens roll, fairways are grassy and soft enough to take great divots. Obviously the free range balls, locker room, water machine, and friendly staff make this place the best course for its price point by a mile. I just hope they don’t raise the price after reading this.
Nicd course
Dont let all the 1 star reviews fool you. In good shape for most courses around the citrus county ares. Greens were veey nice. Fringe was great. Faiways were a little patchy but lies were nice. Tee boxes were the worst part but i tee up anyway. 50 bucks may be a bit pricey but for 30 or 40 its worth it
Greens are crabgrass
I don’t know where you got the picture of this course but it’s nothing like it shows. The greens are filled with crab grass. Fairways were seeded which was also needed but the greens were terrible. I won’t be back.
Course is in pathetic shape
We played this course a year ago and enjoyed it, but not so yesterday. The greens are by far the worse I have ever played with clumps of dandelions all over every green. Some greens are missing parts of grass.
The Fairways were being reseeded and bare spots were in abundance through the Fairways. It appears that ant colonies now rule the course as huge ant hills were in plentiful supply on all 18 holes. I would not recommend this course in its current condition.
Rick!
Try us again. The Crabgrass is GONE!!
The course is green and greens are rolling smooth. Ask for our "Play Us Again" Special.
Please come back.
Citrus Team
Nice but!
It is an amazing track. Had some bare spots. Would play again as they were over seeding.
Refee,

Great possibilities
The course has great possibilities. The staff is friendly and engaging. The course has challenges. Everyone tees from womens tees. The fairways showed a lot of sand spots. The greens were as long as the fairways and had a lot of crabgrass. Couldn't play the last three holes due to sprinklers running. For all the possibilities the facility has. It makes the short coming of the even more disappointing. I may have caught the course in a transitional state. Would love to play it again good shape.

Poor
Tee boxes were all moved for overseeing but all were in poor condition as were the fairways and greens. Sand traps were in the best condition of all on the course.

Major Disappointment!!
I have been playing the old " Southern Woods course " 15 years ago and up until the last several years the course has been going downhill- however yesterday my friends and family called it a desert course and I had to agree- I will not be back until your staff returns it to its formal glory !- I'm so sad to say this but it's just the plain truth 🥲
SMW Resident,
Don't give up on us. We had a tough summer. New Superintendent has us back on track and you'll be amazed at the improvement.

Course is in rough shape
Hey, it’s hard to complain when I played here today for only 20$ through golf now. Fairways are bare with no grass, tee boxes are the same as fairways. There are crabgrass patches on every green. This course needs good maintenance desperately. For a newb like me, it’s fine but golf snobs beware , you won’t like this place at all. If I had paid any more than 20$, it would I have been worth it in my opinion. I will go back if the 20$ deal continues on golf now, that’s the only way.
BJ OK
Greens & fairways were horrible, no distance markers, lady in pro shop was hateful!!! Nothing good to say about this course!!!!
BJ,
So sorry that you had a bad experience at Citrus national.
Please try us again and ask for the "Play Us Again" Special.
You will be amazed at the improvement of course conditions. Lady in Pro Shop is a sweetheart. Can't imagine how she offended you but we will "coach her up" and make you feel super welcome next time. New Superintendent is off to fast start. The course improvements in last month are amazing. We call him Rain Man as he loves to water the course.
Try us again, please and soon.

Good features
First impression. Impressed, give you free range, chipping and putting balls. Only public course I know that offers this. Course has good layout. Courseit self needs some work. Tee boxes, fairways and greens needs some grass. Will play again.
We are happy to report Citrus is Goat Ranch no more.
Crabgrass is GONE and fairways have greened up. Our new Superintendent is named Greene and we call him Rain Man as he loves to water.
